Never Let Go (Titanic Fanfic)

The sail

Rose and Jack escape from the most underneath floor after saving Jack. The water gushes inside the room and wets them completely.

They run away and seem to meet dead ends wherever they go. They rush upstairs but the ship seems to be badly wrecked for the sea water is everywhere and Jack and Rose know if they don't hurry up they will sink with the ship.

As they reach the top deck they find that people are escaping into life boats. Jack catches Rose and hurries towards them but Rose stops him.

"What....." Jack asks.
"Cals there" Rose replies. They both stare into each others eyes and seem to come to an understanding.

And soon they hasten towards the topmost deck, the place where their love started. As they reach there, three-fourth of the ship is in water and only the top part is visible.

"I jump, you jump" Jack says. Rose nods eyeing him.
Holding each others hand they fall from the height into the chilling waters.

It sends a cool shudder to their spine. At the other side they can hear people voices trying to escape but all the life boats were taken by the so called 'Aristocratic class'.

"They will freeze to their deaths" Rose says softly clattering her teeths 
"Where are the life boats?".

" We too will die if we don't find help" Jack whispers, making Rose go to a horrible trauma.

A wooden door plank comes sailing towards them. Jack catches it and tells Rose to get onto it.

"Jack give me your hand. Come up"
"This one can't take both of us. I will do fine here" Jack says.
"No Jack the waters really cold"
"Rose do you believe in me" Jack says getting closer and gazing into her eyes.
"Yes Jack and I always will do" she whispers.
"Then trust me we will get help soon and be out fine"

They sail on the sea towards the life boats at a distant, with small ice bergs floating all around them.

Jack gazes into Rose's eyes and a jolt of warmth spreads in his heart looking at them so beautifully shaped.

After a while the temperature seem to fall downwards to a horrible degree. The sea waters become so cold that Jack's body freezes all over. He becomes as white as paper with all the frost slowly covering him.

Rose suddenly notices a wary and lifeless look in his eyes.
"Jack!! Jack are you fine!! JACK" Rose cries.

But Jack is as still as a human can be.
"Jack No....Jack don't tell me... No it can't be possible" she yelps out.

Rose feels as if her heart had broken into pieces. Suppressing a sob, she leans over to kiss him.

The kiss sends sparkling impulse into Jack's sinews, heating up his body slightly.
"Rose I'm not dead" he whispers in a husky soft voice.
"Jack get on the plank."
"It holds only one my lady"
"Then I'll get down for a while"
"No that would be so unmanly of me....."
"Don't be a sexist now Jack" she says and gets down.

Rose helps Jack onto the plank and she immediately feels the chill of the water. Her brain seem to freeze and her teeth clatters so loudly that Jack notices it.

"No Rose I can't let you..." He cries.
Rose doesn't say anything for she couldn't manage to get out even a word out of her mouth.

"Rose climb on. We will manage" he says and holds out his hand.  She climbs on to the plank but it unbalances and they almost fall out.

Jack hugs her and the wood eventually comes to a still, balancing them. They hug deeply, feeling the comfort and warmth in each others hand. They seem to forget the world, gazing into each others eyes.

"Rose will you be Mrs.Dawson" James asks. Rose nods her head for the poor girl still couldn't get a word out of her mouth because of the freezing temperature.

Jack cups her face in his hand and plants a gentle kiss on her lips. This seems to be so blissful on such a cold night to both of them. It becomes more passionate and finally they break when they hear the whistle of a rescue ship nearing them.

Jack whistles to get the attention of the men in the ship. To their luck the ship heads towards them slowly and men come out for the rescue.

"Quite a great couple" a jolly young fellow says seeing them.

They both sit in silence among the other rescued people with warm blankets to comfort them.

"I'm ready to be Mrs. Dawson" Rose says staring at sky, recounting everything happened in the past hours.
"Rose, the lottery to Titanic was the best thing that has and will ever happen in my life"

Rose starts laughing lightly with mirth lines up her eyes. Her white face seems to get back to its rosy color now. Her laugh was so contagious that Jack couldn't help but smile meekly.

"I can't believe I gave a slip to Cal and ...." She pauses a bit thinking "..and...mom. This freedom is really blissful"

The dawn appears in the sky and all the sea world sprung up into life. After sometime they find land!!! The merry set of passengers cry out in joy. The kids huddled inside their mother's arms peep out in excitement.

"We are in America" a man shouts out.
"Christopher Columbus! America!" Rose shouts out. It had occurred to her for the first time that they had no where to go.

"I have an aunt here" Jack said.
"Maybe I too but we don't talk about them much"
"She will welcome us and once I get a job we can return back"
"No Jack. I don't want to go back to my place." Rose says with spite.

"OK then my dear. We begin our life here."
"I love you Jack" she says with a small tear escaping from the side of her eyes.
"I always do"
"Can I dance like we did on the ship. And whistle and Mhh...spit like a man"

"You can my dear. I can't think of what would have happened to the Necklace, the Heart of the Ocean" and with a shy grin added "the portrait of the most beautiful woman in this world".

Rose face was all red at this mention." I hope it is fine under the sea bed" she replies. "Would they have survived?" She asks referring to her mother and Cal.

"Maybe! Seeing that they were with life boats and not us"

And they get down from the ship and step on the coast.

"Here we come a new life with my pretty lady with me" Jack says and they walk of hand in hand, least worried about their new life.
