Chapter 1: Make em' proud

PROLOGUE~

**DEMI'S POINT OF VIEW**

"Ms. Lovato, the performance is starting in 10 minutes. Please finish your last minute preparations," The Grammy's stage manager told me.

I nodded my head and stared at my reflection in the mirror. I had my game face on even though this isn't a football game or anything, but it's much more! I took a deep breath in and slowly breathed out. This was the Grammy's award show I was waiting for all year. This year is not like every other year, This was my year! I'm going to make Hollywood Records proud of me.

"Ms. Lovato it's time."

I stood up and clenched my teeth together, "And that Bruno Mars won't get in my way" I said under my breath. I got myself together and walked out slamming my dressing room door.

**BRUNO'S POINT OF VIEW**

"Mr. Mars, you're on stage in 10 minutes." The Grammy's stage manager lets me know.

I throw up a thumbs up and take a seat in the chair again. I check myself out in the mirror. "I look great tonight and there's no way I can lose!" I said.

I need to give out everything I have tonight to make Elektra Records proud. I was so close last year but it just wasn't good enough, but this year is my year! And Demi Lovato won't steal this away from me again.

"Mr. Mars, lets get going." They called for me.

I stand up like a champion and head to the door. I take a quick spit in the trash can first, "Demi Lovato I am coming for you" I chant. I follow the stage manager and we arrive at the entrance of the stage, and there, I see her right across the stage. I stare into her sparkly brown eyes, we make eye contact for awhile but it's not the kind of eye contact that people would normally have. It was almost deadly, both of our determination showing, we both wanted it bad.

**DEMI'S POINT OF VIEW**

Bruno and I were having what seemed like a staring contest to the death... What I see in his eyes isn't really true hatred. It was just rivalry and our determination to win this. I take one last look at Bruno and he winks at me. Charm doesn't cut it, it won't get you anywhere.
