A Victorian secret

Theodore Daniels

The blue eyes were string at her. Looking closer she saw tears in them. Opening her arms she motioned for the owner of the eyes to come closer. As if on instinct the creature underneath the table came charging at her and softly landed into her arms. Standing up and calmly stroking the head of the little child she looked down and saw a boy with red hair like hers but brighter. Looking around her she slowly move towards the exit and out into a parlour which luckily had stairs connected to it which led her upstairs into the main part of the mansion as the party. 'Damn mansion and it's confusing exterior' Beth though. Once she had moved to a quieter spot she sat down on a nearby chair and patted the boys head. Looking up she could see that the child had red swollen eyes as if he had been crying for a while. "Hello" she said "My name is Elizabeth but you can call me Beth. What is your name little boy?"

As is debating weather or not to tell her the little boy finally spoke. "My name is Theodore Daniels"

"How old are you Theodore?"

"Seven" he said holding up seven fingers.

"Hey Theodore why were you crying?"

"Because Master Adam and Mistress Angelina do not like me and told me to hide and not appear before them as  i am a nuisance and not wanted" he said in between short breaths.

"Why would they say that?" she asked furiously

"Because i am not related to them"

"Huh"

"I am the former heads wife's nephew" he explained "I live here as my parents died a few years ago" Just as she was about to ask more her name was suddenly called. Turning around she saw Chris, Phillip, John and Alex coming towards her.

"Oh there you are. We were worried about you"Phillip said as Chris smacked her head.

"I'm sorry guys but i got distracted with helping young Theo here" Beth explained showing them the boy in her arms.

Looking at them the boys were shocked. The two standing before them looked similar with their hair and their eyes. It wasn't very noticeable but they also had similar ear shapes. "Um guys whats up?"Beth asked

"Oh nothing it's just that you looked similar"Alex said. 

"Oh so hows the party?" Beth said

"That has just finished and now that we found you we can leave" John said

"I hope not without saying goodbye first" a voice said.

"Adam, Angelina of course not" Phillip said

"Oh you there why are you holding that creature in your arms?" Angelina asked looked at Thep in disgust.

"I am holding Theo as he is crying" Beth said glaring at her.

"Well that creature does not need to be held. He is only here because of our father if i had my way he would be gone as he is only the former heads nephew." Adam said.

"How dare you call Theo a creature. If anything you are  a creature as your actions just them was not human" Beth shouted angrily.

"You like him so much then keep him" Angelina said "It would be nice to finally get rid of him"

"Fine then" Chris said standing in front of Beth and Theo "We will keep Theo until your father comes home"

"Fine then keep him for three months then" Adam said and dragged Angelina away.

"Um Chris are you serious?" Phillip asked

"Yes. Theo would you show us your room so that we can pack some clothes and toys for you?" Chris said. Theo just nodded and directed them to his room which already had servants packing everything he would need.

"Thank you Master Christopher for taking in Master Theo for us as we can protect him no more from those two" Said a butler. Chris nodded and they headed out of the mansion and back home. Once back at the mansion after dropping everyone else home Beth suggested that she would look after Theo for the night as he was already asleep in her arms and it was so late. Chris nodded and they went separate was. Sarah helped get Beth out of the dress and then helped get Theo into some pyjamas. She never asked anything which Beth was thankful for wishing each other good night Beth climbed into bed beside Theo and blew out the candle accepting sleep.
