When betrayal and hurt fill your eyes,
The tears glide down without permission.
You're waiting for the intermission...
For the short break of all of the hurt before you have to move on
Back to the life you despise
Where your "friends" roam around, making fun
Of nearly everything under the sun...
Even you.
You really want to take the knife,
Cutting them swiftly out of your life
But you yearn for friends, happiness, and love
You yearn for people to fill your dark soul
That has only one or two bright stars
You wish for people to take the scars away, not make them
Yet, that's all they do: make the scars.
All of your old joys
Are just like old toys
Growing old, never acknowledged anymore
As you become even more sore
In your heart
Continuing to slowly fall apart.
Your friend's friendship grows
With the person that hurt you the most
But you want both of them to be happy
Even if the wound is still open;
The people in your life criticize you
Making you wonder why you even care,
And then you just stare...
Into space,
Into oblivion,
Into your mind,
Thinking about how so many are unkind.
You continue to break,
Shattering like glass
Wishing for the glue to come piece you back together
So you can leave
For now and forever.
