The calm before the storm

Kat had just woken up and within seconds her phone had gone mental with text messages from her best friend Judy. She didn't feel like doing anything that day but seen as Judy was so insistent she quickly showered and dressed and headed out to Judy's house. Before she even rang the doorbell the door had opened and she was pulled inside. As soon as she was over the threshold and the door had slammed behind her Judy was going on and on about how we had been invited to a party tonight and how there was so much to do. As soon as I had calmed her down enough to decipher what she was saying she told me her plan for the day and immediately pulled me back out the door again.

Within the next ten minutes we had arrived in Judy's heaven the town where all the shops were, she absolutely loved shopping and absolutely loved dragging me along with her. As we entered the first, and hopefully only, shop we had to go to she broke down in tears as it was her first shopping trip that month and this shop had so many beautiful dresses she could control herself. I made sure we spent the least time possible shopping as I positively hated it I mean there is some pleasure in walking away with something beautiful but you're down half your savings your feet are sore after going through all the shops trying to find the perfect thing and when you do it's not really worth it. When we finally left the town with our outfits for the night ahead it was already 2:00 and this sent Judy into hysterics she couldn't possibly get ready in only 5 hours it seemed impossible to her and at this I burst out laughing and couldn't stop until she started hitting me with her bag and shouting about how it wasn't funny and that it was a very serious situation at which point I stopped laughing and told her to hurry up if it was such a big deal.

By the time Judy had managed to haul me into the dress I didn't want to wear and done my hair and my makeup she hardly had anytime left to do hers so she made us late by a whole half an hour so by the time we got there we couldn't find the rest of our friends as they had already disappeared into the crowd. I dreaded another night alone with Judy as she could go a bit mental at party's sometimes disappearing with several different men a night but I shouldn't have worried because as I turned around she was gone probably already off with some man whore so as I looked around I realised I had to brace this party by myself......another look told me this party was going to be even more worse as I spotted a familiar face in the crowd and as he saw me looking at him I realised I had nowhere to hide......
