No one ever said life outside of college was easy. Spending a mass amount of time inside of your dorm room getting high was never the right way to prepare anyone for what the real world had to offer. No one knew what hit them until after they had snatched that diploma, after they had left behind all their friends for separate paths. Skye Indigo was one of those freshly graduated girls, the ones with big dreams and a rich father who could fund more than she needed. As always, her goal was to travel the world and party. She didn't necessarily need a job to support her since her father paid for everything.
Her whole life had been plotted for her since the day of her birth. She hardly needed anyone, for that matter, to taint her plans. Skye's life had been a series of events that could only be described as completely and utterly insane. Her graduating from any college was a surprise, even a miracle to her parents. But nonetheless, Skye Indigo sat comfortably on the plush airplane seat, headed back to Los Angeles after graduating from NYU a few weeks ago. She loved New York City, but it was most definitely time to return to her home city. Her parents had already invested in a small 2-story house near Venice Beach so that Skye could live appropriately on her own.
Skye's freshly manicured nails tapped against her iPhone as she jammed along to the music pumping through her headphones. Her eyes glanced out the window as the airplane made its descent into Los Angeles International Airport, her nimble fingers reaching for another sip of her mojito. She found it hilarious that they would serve alcohol on a plane, but the alcohol went down so easily she almost didn't mind. The view from her window seat was absolutely astonishing, palm trees coming into view as the pilot reached the runway. The plane shook a little, awakening any sleeping passengers and causing Skye to peer out her window curiously. After a few seconds, the roaring of the plane died down, and everyone nearly let out a relieved sigh.
As the plane remained in motion, a voice crackled over the speakers, speaking in a casual voice, "Welcome to Los Angeles, where the local time is approximately 3:46pm. We will be taxiing for a few more minutes, so please remain in your seat with your seatbelt fastened until the captain has parked us at the gate and turned off the seatbelt sign. Use caution when retrieving your personal belongings from the overhead bins, as contents do shift during flight. On behalf of your crew, we thank you for flying with us today. We hope you have a great day in the Los Angeles area, or wherever your final destination may be."
Ah, L.A. She could almost feel the sand running through her fingertips, the shops that lie ahead at the Grove. She had never been more excited to return home in her life. People around her bustled with excitement once the seatbelt sign turned off and others were allowed to retrieve their items. Skye just scooped up her Michael Kors bag, saying 'excuse me' politely to the person who had sat next to her, and exited off the plane. First class seating most definitely had its perks.
She made her way towards baggage claim, trampling over the mass amount of girls that were crowding around the surrounding gates. Skye looked towards them in confusion, before coming to a realization that another 'celebrity sighting' had occurred. It was so common to her that she hardly paid attention to it. It wasn't until the girls started heading towards her that there was a real problem. Well, not exactly towards her. But in her direction, which was enough to make Skye yelp in fright. Yells came from each and every angle as they pushed past everyone to get towards a certain someone. Skye only rolled her eyes, pulling out her sunglasses and perching them against the bridge of her nose.
The aforementioned girl walked towards her baggage claim terminal, her hands in her pocket as she awaited the luggages to begin flowing in. In the meanwhile, Skye pulled out her phone, checking her messages for anything she might've missed. And if there was one thing she definitely hadn't missed, it was her ex-boyfriend, Jeremy, sending yet another text.
