"Wow man that sucks" Kazuki said with a sad face. "So what happened next?" Sourin asked also depressed by my story. I began to continue.
"After that I was transported to a hospital where doctors did surgery on me. It took them six hours to remove the shard from my shoulder blade and seal the wound. After that it took three weeks for me to recover and for me to be rehabilitated. Amon would usually drop by to see how I was doing. I grew to admire him for his care for others and their safety. He even wanted me to join the CCG,"

"There's always room for you at the CCG, you can help us end the Ghoul menace and avenge you family." He said.

"Oh so that's how you ended up here?" Kazuki interrupted curiously. I cleared my throat. "Well not exactly, when he asked I told him I wasn't sure, and that I would have to think about it.

"I understand that you would want to wait but just remember the world waits for no one. Here call me when you're ready to sign up. I'll come by again when you're feeling better just in case."  He said

After what I had witnessed that night, I didn't want anything to do with the doves or their bloodlust for Ghoul's, no offense" I remarked "None taken." Kazuki said understanding the harshness of some the investigators. "Whatever" said Sourin who's rude but calm demeanor was always somehow uplifting. "So why did you sign up for the CCG?" "Well once I turned eighteen three months later I decided to do some research on the CCG employment status and I found a separate branch of the corporation located in the main office the government and political branch. It seemed right up my alley for I was always interested in politics. And I didn't have to become an investigator to get the job, but I had to go through the academy first just for safety reasons. So I decided to take the job. Course everyone was shocked when I graduated top of my class as the youngest member, and yet I decided to join the GPB. But I was all for it and eventually after three years of hard work I eventually made it to where I am now, which is junior director of state Policies and government associates. Also working at the CCG gave me exclusive access to any kind of business job I wanted so I also decided to become a real estate agent like my mom. But even though I have these two wonderful and well paying jobs, I don't think I will ever be able to get over my family's death." I finished kind of depressed.

"Yeah man I know what you mean, when my brother was killed by Ghoul's, man that left a mark." Kazuki mentioned now almost crying. There was a thirty second interval while me and Kazuki thought about what we lost. Until finally Sourin intervened

"Geez, balls up you guys, come on, you gonna make me cry." Sourin berated with a stern look. I chuckled "That'll be the day." We all laughed. I took another drink of Sake and looked at my watch. "Crap would you look at the time I better get home. See you guys tomorrow." I payed all our bills and handsomely tipped the ramen guy. "Alright man thanks for dinner." Sourin said. "Yeah thanks Tatsuki, have a good night." I walked out of the Ramen shop and started on my way home, buried in thought. 'Sourin and Kazuki are great friends and nice colleagues, but I don't think they'll ever compare to family.'

Short and sweet I say this originally was combined with chapter 3 but I thought it was too long. Plus I felt like there wasn't much connection between the two so I split them. But hope you liked it and leave a comment if you think it needs something.
