Only the flimsy flap of my tent separated me from the low rumbling growl outside, drool starting to come down the side of the tent. Sharp claws are ripping into the flap ferociously.

*flashback* "Cory you're gonna be late for school!" said mom. I'm a junior in high school. Typical kid, with typical problems.

"Aren't you gonna eat breakfast?!" mom yelled

"No!" I said. I'm late as it is. "See you later!"

"Don't forget we're going camping when you get here so be ready." said mom.

"Ya."

*Later at the busstop* I don't wanna go camping. Who wants to go camping nowadays? No one! Except maybe old people.

"Coorrryy!"

"Tim! Waz up man?!"

"Not much, not much at all." said Tim, "What 'bout you?"

"Well I gota go camping this weekend, folks are forcing me. They said that i should experience camping while I'm still young"

"oh man, that sucks dude"

"Right?"

*On the bus* This always fun trying to find a spot on the bus. Let's see... This seat is full, full, full...Goths, jocks, preps. Here we are. A seat next to my best friend. Mary.

"Hey Mary."

"Hey Cory." She says with a smile.

"What are you doing this weekend?" I said.

"Nothing much, what 'bout you?"

"Going camping." *Groan* "I don't wanna go camping"

"Well, have fun." said Mary. "Hey! Maybe I can come with?" I like camping, and I'm not doing anything this weekend anyway."

"I will find out for you while you double check with your parents." I said.

"Kay, I will do that. Meet up at lunch?" asked Mary.

"Sure." I said with a smile.

*At lunch* I sit at my table. At my spot. Waiting for everybody else to come to the table. Tim usually come first. Then Sam. Then Mary. Tim is also known as 'Laffy Taffy' Because it looks like he is stretched like taffy, tall and skinny. Then there is Sam. He doesn't have a nickname, but He is about the same height as me alittle bit more chunky as you could say. Then there is Mary medium height. Very pretty with the brown eyes and hair, and as far as she knows i like her as a friend nothing more.

"Tim, how was Knauts?"

"She is in a better mood today, you should be okay."

"Kay, man."

"Did you even do the homework?" asked Tim.

*Chuckles* "No."

"Man, you're not going to get anywhere if you keep this up."

"Keep what up?" Mary asked.

"He isn't doing his homework again for Mrs. Knauts."

"Corrrryy. You need to do that."

"I known but its so hard." I said.

"Why haven't you asked for help?"

"I don't know..."

*Scilence* .... .... ...

"So can you come camping?" I asked.

"I can..."

"Will you?"

"I will.... On one condition." she said.

"What's that?"

"You bring your homework so I can help you."

This is a hard decision. On the one hand no homework, but camping with just my parents. On the other hand Bring homework along and go camping with Mary too.

"Sure, I will take my homework with."

"Yay! Can't wait."

"See you at my house later." I said.

*At the house*

"Hey Mary!"

"You got it?"

"Yeap."

"Alright. Lets go." She said.
