Hey everyone, I'm alive?! Woah! xD

I'm starting this book up again, and I'm hoping to update once a week as I have exams coming up so I'm sorry it can't be more frequent. (I'll try and throw in another update this week though, since you've all been so patient with me!)

Also since some of you asked, the order for these books are:
Under His Control
Becoming His Pet
Phoenix (this one)

They can all be read as stand alone books, but for this one I highly recommend reading at least 'Becoming His Pet' first as there are major spoilers for that book in this chapter, since the plots are quite interlinked ^.^

Anyway, this chapter is kind of a recap but enjoy!

Phoenix's POV
"Run!" Father cried, just before the large white wolf slashed his chest, splattering a sickeningly dark crimson liquid onto its snowy fur, and the dirt track below. "Go! Find Robin, tell him what happened here! He deserves to know about your mother and I!"

"No! You're not going to die!" I yelled back, trying to force the white shape aside with a repulsion spell, which worked for a small amount of time. The wolf's body began to slide slowly away, before my concentration broke when I heard my father cry out in pain again.

"Just go, Phoenix! Go!"

"Where?!" I replied, choking back a sob. "Where can I find him?"

"Head east!" Father cried, his voice getting fainter and fainter, his breathing slowing as his chest heaved with the effort of drawing in the air. "And leave now, before I cannot keep this beast at bay any longer! Don't let me die for nothing, leave this place!"

An address suddenly appeared upon my hand, followed by 'I love you, son'. Father had used the last on his magical energy to direct me to my brother...

"I won't let you down, father" I whispered, my lower lip trembling as I witnessed my father collapse, as death prepared to take him from this world. My father- the one who loved me, cared for me, and taught me all he knew.

Felled as swiftly and easily as snapping a twig. Gone.

Brushing a stray tear from my eye and sparing one last glance over my shoulder, I began to head east, as fast as possible with my wounded thigh and chest.

Before the wolf had got to father, my own chest as well as my thigh had been slashed, but not so deeply. I would live a while longer, but I didn't know any healing magic strong enough for my wound. That may be another reason father is sending me to Robin, though I doubt the vampire will be too pleased about that.

Well, I don't want to see him either. Creepy bastard. He's been tormenting my brother for years, well, indirectly. He's the one who made Robin terrified of the darkness, and now I have to grovel on my knees for his help. I hate to admit it, but I need Robin. And I also need him.

Stumbling along, I felt eyes on me, watching my every move. But every time I turned to see the source of my unease, I found myself to be alone. Shaking off the feeling, I limped onwards, towards my beloved brother, my salvation.

But the closer I got to him, the more distance I put between my father and I. I don't know if I'll ever be able to forgive myself for leaving him to die, even though I had no other choice.

Hours later and probably by chance, I broke free of the trees and found myself gazing upon Lamar's mansion. I knew it to be his home even though I had never visited due to its sheer size.
