A School Mermaid

Hey guys Hoshot813 here! I have really wanted to make a story like this for a super long time! Don't forget to read my other stories

I jumped down the stairs to my room in the basement. The waffles I had just ate stirred nervously in my stomach. Everyday I had a secret to hide. I was a mermaid.

It had started in the first grade. I started growing scaly things on my arms. My eyes had turned from brown to light blue. No one knew what was happening. I had to skip a whole day of school being tested for diseases. I took a bath later that night. Before I knew it I had popped a light purple tail. No one in my family was a mermaid! At least no one I knew about.

I brushed my long red hair in the reflection of my mirror. It took at least 10 minutes to get all the knots and tangles out. I picked out a cute crop top with some denim shorts. I slipped on some sparkly flats and grabbed my bag. I smiled and ran back up the stairs.

"Hey Bree!" I yelled running to the place where we waited for the limo to drive us to school. She whipped her blonde hair around and smiled at me. Her bright green eyes sparkled at me too. We had known each other for, well ever since I can remember.

"Hey Kelsie!" She screamed. She dropped her designer Coach bag on the grass and jumped up and hugged me. She jumped with so much force I dropped my Vera Bradley Indigo Pop gym bag in a mud puddle.


"Bree! What the heck!" I screamed but I still laughed. She was on a bench laughing so hard she could hardly breath. Olaf our limo driver arrived with Alisha and Sloane already inside.

"What's up peanut butter cup?" Sloane yelled.

"Nothing much Captain Crunch!" I yelled back. We all laughed. We had made that up in first grade. We were now in 7th grade. Sloane combed out her curly dark brown hair because Alisha had stuck a piece of gum in it.

"I really cannot believe you did that Alisha," Sloane grumbled wrestling a bright pink blob out of her curls.

"Your just jealous," Alisha smirked as she flipped her long, long, long blonde curls that caught the light whenever she moved her head.

I grabbed the remote to the TV in the limo to distract everyone. Let's just say that sassy fights weren't in at the moment. I turned it on to Gravity Falls. I know it was on Disney Channel and all but it was really one of the best shows to watch.

We all stepped out of the limo and into Sweet Water Middle and flattened our pants and skirts. Sloane had one with white lace pared with a cute purple blazer. Alisha had a white leather tight skirt with a light pink ruffled, sleeveless shirt. Bree had high cut white denim shorts and a tee shirt cut just skimming her belly button.

Sloane carefully lifted her Starbucks coffee cup out of the car. She got a chilled frappe with extra whipped cream. Bree had just stepped out before her and wasn't done getting out. Sloane spilled the coffee all over Bree and I!

I darted for the bathroom knowing my purple mermaid tail would come in around 10 seconds.

10,9,8 I started. I locked myself into a stall 5,4,3 Bree came in right after me.
2,1! I cringed the tail plopped out of the stall. I used my heating powers but the smoke set off the fire sprinkler raining a bunch of water onto me and Bree.

Bree gasped and then started screaming after the fire alarm went off.

"Bree it's not a real fire!" I yelled

"Yes it is!" She screamed then I saw it. Just a glimpse. It was a giant light blue mermaid tail. Bree was a mermaid too.
