Poem 11

Headaches, heartaches, body aches, everything aches
Numbness fills your bones
Darkness fills your soul
Tears fill your eyes
Hurt hides behind your goodbyes
You blast music into your ears to feel whole
Hoping that it can once again bestow
The wholeness of your broken heart and soul
You dream, you hope
You hide behind the smoke
Your smiles are fake
Always hiding your mistakes
You pray for better days
But only end up in more dismay
For you can't pull your mind away
From blaming everything on yourself...
You're the reason for the goodbyes
The reason no one accepts you
The reason everyone leaves you behind
You're the one to blame for your own hurt
The one to blame for your numb feeling of brokenness
You're shattered
You continue to break
Until that one bright day
Where your shattered pieces are dust, and blown away
When you don't have a heart anymore, just a void
A black hole
Never to be hurt again...
Until you take a chance on a soul like yours.
