*Sydney's POV*
"Bye Jack, Leila." I say rushing out of the Daniels Household. I do not like Hunter one bit. He is truly a jerk that does not care about anybody's feelings, but he own. After he begins to pass his tests, I will never speak to him. Crap. I forgot that Leila is his sister. Maybe she will just come over to my house instead of usually going over to hers. I begin to head home, speeding a little over the limit.

I go to my room. I am home alone, like always. Both of my parents work late and my brother is always out with his friends. He is a year younger than me. I plop onto the couch. It is only 9:30, so I pop in "The Notebook". It has to be one of my favorites.

I hear a notification come from my phone, which I put across the room. I get up and grab it. It's a text from Hunter that reads, "I'm sorry. Forgive me? 🙁I really need help tomorrow." I reply with, "Fine, but don't be such jerk all the time." He immediately responds with, "GASP! I'm not a jerk, I mean look at me." "There it is." I reply. "Night, Delicate Flower." NO HE IS NOT GOING TO CALL ME THAT. "NOOO I CAN TELL YOU ARE LAUGHING, MR! You can't call me that!" I reply. "It's already entered into my phone, Delicate Flower. 😏" He replies. "G'Night. I assure you that I'll come up for an equally annoying nickname for you, Hunter."

I realize that we have been texting for half an hour. I head up into my room. I instantly fall asleep.

When I arrive to first period the next day, Hunter takes a seat next to me again. The teacher has yet to arrive. His friend, Tyler, I think, passes him a note. He immediately blushes. "Hey," he lowers his voice, "Delicate Flower." At least he is being considerate. "I still haven't came up with a name for you. Perhaps, I should ask Tyler to help?" I say and he immediately looks paranoid. I take the note off of his desk and turn towards Tyler. Tyler looks like a deer facing headlights. "Can you help me Tyler? I need to come up with an embarrassing nickname for Mr. Annoying over here." I say, as I open the note. It reads, "Dude, is that Sydney? Nice one, man." I begin to laugh. Hunter and Tyler look a bit embarrassed. "Uh... How about Attractive?" Hunter suggests. "Just go with Jerk." Tyler says. "Sounds good to me." I say, smiling to myself. "But why?" Tyler says. "He came up with one I didn't like very much for me. And if he tells you, I'll lose it." I say, eyeing Hunter carefully, making sure he doesn't tell him that I've never had a boyfriend. "Okay, Delicate Flower." He mutters under his breath where I think Tyler caught it. I slap Hunter immediately. "You jerk!" I say, laughing. A bunch of heads snap our way. "Wait...." Tyler says as he begins to laugh. He gets it. Crap. "Thanks, Jerk." I say, giving Hunter an evil glare. The teacher finally enters, apologizing for his being late.

The bell rings and Jack immediately approaches me in the hallway. "Can we talk? It's important." He asks. We go to an empty hallway to talk. "What is it?" I ask, blinking rapidly. "I like Leila. I think, at least." I begin to laugh. "Sydney, why in the world are you laughing?" He gets angry. "It's obvious. I know you like her. I'm surprised she doesn't know already. I mean when she said that thing about never wanting to date you, I could tell how hurt you were. It's okay." I say, hugging him. "Thanks, Sydney. But like, what do I do?" He asks. "I don't know.
Maybe I could put in a good word for you?" I laugh, "Honestly, just tell her, or get closer to her in a way that emphasizes that you're more than friends." I am satisfied with my answer. He gives me a small smile, and then we part ways to our 7th period class. The day is almost over. Thank god.
