Chapter 1
"Full Name?" Asked the lady behind the desk.
"Sylvia Ingrid Carlson" I replied as calm as I could. The lady typed something into her computer.
"Yes of corse. I should have known. I'll have someone come down and get you." She said in a tone that was WAY too cheery. The woman directed me to a sitting area that had a large window that gave you a clear view of the small town somewhere in West Virginia. I remember on the car ride here thinking it was nothing special, but now I couldn't look away from it. Would this be the last time I saw the outside world?
"Sylvia?" A voice called. I turned to see a middle age woman with several gray hairs and a white doctor coat on.
"I'm Dr. Brown. I will be your therapist for your time here."
"I'm not crazy." I said. I have been saying that a lot lately. She gave me a sad look.
"No your not, but you are sick and I want to help you." People have been saying that a lot too. Especially my parents. If you could even call them that for sending me here. Dr. Brown extended her hand to me.
"If you could please come with me there are some things we must do before we show you your room" although I didn't want to leave the window I followed her. She led me to a private room where she had me change out of my t-shirt and jeans into clean white cotton shirt and pants. When I came out she handed me a pair of white shoes that looked like water shoes and I put them on and handed her my old clothes and shoes. Then we walked down the hall to another desk like the one in the lobby but a bunch of plastic bins behind her. Dr. Brown handed her my clothes and the lady clipped a wristband on me with my name on it. The doctor then led me through another door and my blood ran cold as I realized that we were now in the housing area. As we past other 'Patients' I noticed a girl with dull short shaggy brown hair and dark circles under her eyes arguing with the wall, another girl with dark blonde hair was talking with a deep voice and trying to hit on the nurse that was dragging her into a room. Every where there were crazy people doing crazy things. We walked up some metal stairs then finally we reached my room. F228. Dr. Brown opened the door and I walked in and sat on the white and gray bed.
"You can rest now. Lights out are in about an hour but sense you've had such a long trip you can go straight to bed and we will start therapy tomorrow." She said the closed the door which had no handle on this side. I laid down and cried. My name is Sylvia Carlson. I go by Sid. I now live in St. Bella's Teenage Asylum for the Mentally Ill.
