the weak early morning sun streams through my window, lighting up her sleepy face.

her long eyelashes brush the soft skin below her eyes, and her lips are slightly parted in sleep.

she stirs, rolling over to put an arm around my shoulder. i smile, and do the same to her.

time passes, but i don't know how much. an hour? three hours? i eventually fall back asleep, warm in the sunlight.

i wake up next to the soft touch of her lips on my cheek, on my hand, on my exposed stomach. i roll over to face her, and there she is, smiling at me with her sleepy five a.m. eyes.

"morning, beautiful!" i say, leaning over to plant a kiss on her lips. she smiles into the kiss, entangling her fingers in my messy hair.

this is all i've ever wanted. this is the girl who single-handedly saved my life. this is the girl i'm in love with.
