The twins led their parents through the crowd of confused, scared, and frantic people. Shoving through people and trying their best to keep their hold on their parents wrists, as not to loose them in the large crowd. Their parents told them to slow down, but they couldn't hear over the amount of people screaming around them; the woman that had turned had attacked someone. The twins had tight grasps on their parents and were trying not to let go, but they were nervous and that was taking it's toll; their grasps were gradually being forced to loosen. The doors of the airport were visible and it would only be a short time before they reached them, however, the police and military in the building had somehow decided that all adults inside the building, aside from themselves, were a threat and needed immediate quarantine. The officers ripped their squirming, yelling parents away from the twins and told them to leave before it was too late. They did just that and headed for the streets..

A humble taxi driver had just stopped her car due to the twins running out in front of the car. She stared at them, watching their shoulders rise and fall and they attempt to regain their breath. She rolls down the window to the car and beckons the twins over the side of the car. They explain what's happened to their parents and the airport. She unlocked the back doors and they quickly got in. The young lady couldn't help but stare at the two platinum blonde misfit orphans that sat in the backseat of her small car. They were a mystery to her, just as she was an even bigger mystery to them. The short-haired ginger continued driving as the twins mumbled. She looked at them in the rear-view mirror as her two-toned eyes caught their green ones. She started conversing with them as she attempted to get them to temporary safety.

The young, blonde haired boy rolled his chair across his room back to his computer. His parents still weren't home from the office and he wasn't sure if they ever would be, considering what had started. He sent one last goodbye message to all of those he was close to and stood up, getting what he was sure would be the last look of the room he had grown to love. He had to leave this house, this city. He went downstairs and looked through a closet until he found his old camping bag labeled "Bryce". His mother was always crazy about having things organized. Bryce began to pack things into the camping bag; small weapons, canned foods, crisps, crackers, other foods, and a few outfits. He closed up the bag, grabbed the keys to his deceased grandfather's old car from the hook in the garage and he was on his way to the promised evacuation center.

The farm girl had left where she had been raised and was on a bus, head leaning against the cold window. It was extremely late for the poor girl to be awake, as she would normally be waking up in four hours to take care of the farm animals she loved so dearly. Now, the only proof she had of where she came from remained in the form of a necklace she had gotten from her grandfather for her birthday and the dress she was wearing, which was her grandmother's. There weren't many people on the bus, seeing how most people were far too afraid of the plague that had struck the world seemingly overnight. The only other people on the bus were drunk, high, or people like her; trying to escape the illness. The terrible thing that caused her grandparents to end their own lives.  'H'. She played with the letter that hung from the thin, silver chain around her neck. She had always been an innocent girl that was sheltered from everything that had happened. She went to a private school and didn't talk to many people. She had thought the world was all sunshine and daisies, but seeing her grandfather with his brain blown out and then seeing her grandmother do the same.. It made her realize that she has to see things differently if she wanted to survive. As she stared out the window, she heard someone speaking to her. "Miss?", they spoke and it echoed in her mind as she tried to comprehend the idea of a stranger trying to interact with her. She slowly turned her head to look at the speaker. The person that had spoken out to her was a thin, young man with dyed blue hair and when he realized that he had her attention, he asked her a question; "Pardon me if I'm intruding, but what does that 'H' around your neck stand for?". He seemed interested so she gave him a response, "My name. 'H' is the first letter of my name, 'Holly'.". He nodded and went back to his seat and she couldn't tell if he was drunk, high, or simply trying to escape like she was. She pressed her forehead against the window again as she continued to play with the small piece of metal..

The twins and their ginger rescuer had made it back to her apartment. She had sent the twins to go get some food for themselves out of her kitchen, as she assumed they hadn't eaten for a while and allowed them to make themselves at home the best they could. She sat alone, listening to the radio trying to find any information from the military about the virus, plague, illness, whatever it was. The military had decided that that Ohio was going to be one of the first evacuation states. They promised that all the undead within the state lines would be dead by morning and they encouraged all the civilians to sleep. She then went to the living room where she found the twins, staring out the window and she walked over to them. "Alright," she spoke, "I've got a few things to say.". They both turned to face her, perfectly in sync and gave her their full attention. She continued speaking, "First off, we'll be safe here for a while. The military has decided to make Ohio into an evacuation state.", the twins nodded and allowed her to continue, "You two are technically guests and might as well be my younger siblings, since the government has made us into orphans. I want you two to have my room until we have to leave here. I'll sleep on the couch.". The twins both agreed to it and allowed the older girl to call the shots, after all, she did save them from their potential doom at the claws and teeth of drooling, flesh-eaters.

Bryce had made it out of New York and was still driving, but was running low on gas, so of course he had to get more. Knowing it would be risky, he pulled into a lit gas station and began to fill up the old car. He almost had it filled when he had began to hear groaning nearby; one of the flesh-eating monsters he had seen on the news was starting to close in on him, but wasn't close enough that he could see it. Bryce wasn't going to take the risk though, he finished pumping the gas, quickly got back into the old car and drove off towards Ohio. He listened to the military broadcast as he drove, listening to make sure that the place he was going for safe haven was still active. He sped down the deserted road, enjoying the speed the old car produced while avoiding the undead wanderers that stumbled around, like drunken old men. He was beginning to become drowsy, but he knew that he couldn't sleep with them out there. He wouldn't be able to. He took another sip of his soda and kept on driving.
