Overview:

Rachel and Miles have been best friends since they were ten-years-old. He's the dangerous, mysterious playboy, while she's the shy, innocent good girl. An unlikely pair, for sure, these two have never seen each other as anything more than just "friends." But, one day, Miles convinces Rachel to attend a party in celebration of their senior year of high school. Will an innocent game of "Spin the Bottle" change their relationship forever?

When did you start writing?

I started writing just this year. I had a burning desire to write fiction books, and one day, I just sat down and decided to go for it.

How would you describe your writing style?

My writing style is casual - I don't set out trying to make a masterpiece or a really difficult read. I try to make it fun and light so that everybody can enjoy it. The most important thing to me is to create a great story that people can relate to.

Which song describes who you are? What’s your favourite verse?

"Sweet Silver Lining" by Kate Voegele. My favorite verse is, "So many people are looking to me to be strong and to fight, but I'm just surviving. I may be weak, but I'm never defeated."

What’s your biggest inspiration in life?

My biggest inspiration in life would have to be my family. They are so incredibly supportive. But, the struggles that I have endured have also ignited a crazy fire in my heart - I have the need to succeed.

Who are the special people in your life?

My love, Anthony. He's very special to me. We've been together for seven years. My mom and dad are super special - the most amazing parents in the world. And, of course, my furry bff - Remington. He's the cute pup in my profile picture.

Questions about 'Spin the Bottle'...

What inspired you to create characters like Rachel and Miles?

Miles' sense of humor is a lot like my boyfriend's. He was the badass in high school, and I was the "good girl" who was really careful and conservative.

What do you think is unique about your story?

The characters have flaws - not all of them have been revealed yet. But, it's not your average teen fiction book, that's for sure. More of that to come :)

Tell me something which nobody knows about Rachel and Miles.

Nobody knows that Rachel and Miles will be getting matching tattoos :) at some point...

One unknown fact about the book.

I will be changing part of the beginning, which will include something very specific about Miles' upbringing. That will become very important to the plot.

What trait of Miles can you most relate to?

His humor! Miles is hilarious. I think I'm pretty funny myself, so that's the trait that I can most relate to. He's a perfect combination of sexy, funny, and flirty.

Which trait of Rachel do you most like?

I can most relate to Rachel's innocence. I NEVER even had one sip of alcohol in my life. I NEVER attended any parties in high school. I NEVER smoked. Rachel is very much like me in a lot of ways. Her innocence is what makes the story interesting, so I like that trait of hers.

Have you used any of your own experiences in the book?

The kiss between Miles and Rachel was a lot like my first kiss. My boyfriend legitimately took my breath away - he gave me a kiss that just about knocked me out! So, that kiss is drawn from life experience. However, I never participated in a game of Spin the Bottle!

Which section have you most enjoyed writing so far and why?

The kissing scene! Writing about Rachel's experiences during Spin the Bottle were so much fun to write. I even loved writing about her first kiss with Connor and how it totally bombed. A lot of stories talk about this epic first kiss experience. I think it's important to write about what could actually happen. The first kiss is not always as magical as the movies make it out to be. I've only ever kissed one guy in my life, and that was my boyfriend. So, although I don't know what it's like to have a bad kiss, I've heard some horror stories. And of course, the kiss between her and Miles was HOT! So, that was a lot of fun to put together.

Is there a message in your book that you want your readers to understand?

I think that I want my readers to take away a few messages from the story. One of the messages is that life is not perfect - it's not always a fairytale. But, the other message is that the most important thing about love is friendship. Friendship makes for a deeper, stronger love. And finally, save your first kiss for someone who you really like or love! There are only a few special moments in life. You deserve to wait to have that special first kiss. It's so worth it.

One word to describe your book.

AMAZING!

A message to your fans: You guys have really encouraged me to go forward with this book and finish it! I'm so lucky to have you all. I appreciate all of the fans that I have gained, all the followers, and all of the loyal support. You are amazing! I couldn't do any of this without you.

Bonus question!

Who do you imagine to play in the cast when you're writing a chapter?

I would definitely picture Lucy Hale in the role of Rachel. I had someone message me saying that Lucy is played out and that Miley Cyrus is more of a fit for the role. No way. Chase Crawford or Zac Efron for Miles - I can't decide. They both are sexy in different ways with a bad boy vibe.
