Chapter One: School Attack

Alissa jerked her head behind her and shivered.

She thought she heard someone screaming on one of the dark streets, she tilt her head, looking for another person who might've heard the same thing. But the crowd seems to be normal. She shook her head, trying to erase the scream from her mind and continued walking.

Someone put an arm around her neck when she entered the school gate.

"Morning Alissa" Chloe said putting a chocolate flavored lollipop in her mouth, offering Alissa the strawberry one. Alissa took it and teared the wrapper and did the same thing.

"Thanks" she mumbled.

Their friends, John and Nathan approached them with serious faces.

"What's up? " Alissa asked

John nodded at Nathan, "Haven't you heard? Mrs. Jamie went missing this morning"

Chloe suddenly bit her lollipop and turned at them "What?! what happened? " she said

"Mrs. Jamie said that she'll just go to a store, right down the third street and never came back" Nathan said his voice grave

"Since when? " Alissa asked

"Since this morning, the students from the morning class told us everything" John replied.

A while later, their other friends Bryan, Colton, Faith and Danica joined in with their conversation, adding a few more information of what they know.

"Something is definitely not right here" Alissa said with the others agreeing with her.

The bell rang, Alissa and Colton went to their room while Chloe, Bryan, Nathan, John, Faith and Danica walked towards their room.

Alissa stretched as high as her arms would let her, she poked on Colton who was doing the same but was having a hard time. Colton gasp and fell on his butt, Alissa laughed.

"Why do you always tease me? " Colton said with a hint of whining in his voice.

Alissa grinned "That's what you get for being so lazy"

Colton stood and brushed the dirt off his pants "For your information, I am not lazy, I've been solving maths and calculus so don't call me lazy! " he said

"Then what do you call a person who always solves maths and never leaving his chair? " Alissa challenged

Colton thought for a moment, a single word popped in his brain
"Smart? "

Alissa bursted laughing, Colton rolled his eyes "What? "

"You. Smart? " Alissa laughed again "You flunked every subject except math, computer and those computations in science" she said wiping a tear in her eye.

"I could never understand you" Colton groaned, Alissa turned to him "And you never will" she said back.

Then suddenly they heard screams echoed in the hallway, Alissa and Colton stared at each other.

"Am I crazy, or I think I just heard Patricia screamed? " Colton asked, Alissa gestured her head towards the hallway and started walking towards the racket, Colton followed.

A group of running and screaming students went past them, Colton grabbed Peter "Dude, what's going on? " Colton asked, Peter was shaking, he yelled one word before dashing away "Zombies! "

"Wait, what? " Alissa said then they heard a sound, Colton and Alissa turned and they saw Vivian slumped against the wall, and their homeroom teacher, Prof. Johnson munching on her stomach, blood flooded the floor, and some of Vivian unfinished intestine was thrown everywhere.

"What the-" Colton began but Alissa placed a hand on his mouth. Prof. Johnson stopped eating and turned towards their direction. They froze, as he began walking, they thought it was their dead end until, he went past them.

Both waited until Prof. Johnson was far enough, "He's blind" Alissa whispered, Colton moved his ears closer "What? " he asked

Alissa faced him, "Prof. Johnson is blind, he can detect us because he can hear us"

"How can you be so calm, when the school is under attack? " Colton said, he gave a little shiver.

Alissa didn't reply, she went inside the tle room just behind Vivian's corpse. She drew a large knife from the workboard and went outside.

"Hey, where are you going? " Colton said but Alissa went past him, straight to Prof. Johnson, her pace quickened until she was running.

Prof. Johnson stopped and turned to Alissa, but Alissa was quick enough. She raised her knife and stabbed Prof. Johnson straight in the chest.

Blood sprayed on her face, as she sank the knife deeper. Prof. Johnson stopped moving, Alissa pulled the knife out and the teacher dropped, finally dead.

"A-Alissa? " Colton stammered, staring at her bloodied face, the teacher and the knife in her hand
"Wha.. Why....? " he continued.

Alissa sighed "Let's go, we need to get Chloe and the others and.. Bring a weapon with you" she said, as he hurriedly went back to the tle room to get another knife.

Alissa stared at her hands, she heard a rustle behind her, she turned but then someone clawed her uniform.

She fell back, gripping the knife and tried to fix her uniform only to find that she had lost a few buttons at the top part. With her black bra exposed, she growled and struck the zombie- Vivian in front of her.

Colton went back, holding a butcher knife, he stared at her opened uniform and the dead Vivian at her feet.

"Stop staring, come on, we need to move" Alissa said, Colton grabbed her hand and placed an axe in it.

"You knew how to use it better than I do" he said, Alissa nods as they went back to help their friends.
