Boom. Another hit came closer. Boom. With every bomb dropped the house shook. "Amber!" My mothered shouted as another bomb dropped next to the house causing the house to start rumbling and shaking. I begin running down the hall to my mothers room but it seems to be stretching farther away from me. "Amber!" I hear my mother call once more before the two story house collapses.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

I jolt up realizing that it was another nightmare. They had been occurring more often since the accident. 6:30 am my alarm read.

"Amber Delia Thomas you had better be out of that bed before I finish cooking!" My mother shouted from the kitchen downstairs. "I'm up, I'm up." I grumbled in response though j knew she wouldn't hear me.

I lazily slide out of bed, adjusting my jumbo sized shirt so it was no longer trying to choke me. I walked into my bathroom that was connected to my bedroom, and reached for my toothbrush and paste.

After brushing my teeth for a couple minutes and rinsing with my mint wash I headed for my closet looking for a shirt. I picked out a baggy navy blue sweater, a pair of black leggings, and brown combat boots to top it off with a messy bun since winter was rolling around. I grabbed my book bag and unplugged my phone before strolling out of my room and down the stairs to meet my mother.

"Good morning." I greeted as I entered the kitchen. "Good morning to you too, sleepy head." My mother laughed in return while placing a plate of eggs and bacon in front of me at the bar. "Thank you." I mumbled and began eating. Honestly I was surprised she was even home, normally she is gone for work before I wake up and comes back after I'm asleep. It's been like that for years, I had gotten used to it.

"Look at the time,It's already 7:45! Hurry up and go, you'll be late!" My mother fussed. I grabbed my bag and phone, slipping it in my back pocket, before drinking some of my orange juice. I rushed outside and down the side walk towards the school, I knew I'd be late it was a regular 20 minute walk.

-
I made it to the school on time but just barely as the late bell rang. I took my seat and started to take a notebook and pencil from my bag. The teacher walked in and began assigning class work that we must have done before the end of class period.

My day blew by without thought, school had always come easy to me so I never had much of any trouble.

I headed out of the school and towards the public library only a few blocks down from the school, but if you didn't pay attention you would definitely get lost.

I strolled through the isles looking for books to read since I didn't feel like going home just yet. This library was my happy place, I always felt safe here. Though I always felt like someone was watching me from a distance. I felt a pair of eyes on me since I had stepped foot into the building.

I grabbed a couple books before heading towards the reading tables and taking a seat. I opened one of the books and began reading the black and white pages.
-
I finally finished both of my books and checked my phone seeing the time was 8:55 pm, gosh the time has flown by. A couple seconds later a short elderly woman walked around the corner towards the tables, "Ahem, miss? We are closing in a few minutes, if you'd like you can come back tomorrow we open at 8 sharp." She chirped.
"Hopefully I'll make it after school." I smiled at her.

I gathered my things and walked out of the library, starting towards home. It was was pitch black outside, not exactly the safest time to be out especially with many of the people that do drugs or sell them at least, start coming out at night.

It's getting chilly and this sweater is beginning to wear thin. It nothing but darkness until I come across a flickering street light and asks all under it the light blows, once again leaving me in total darkness. I pull out my phone switching the flashlight on so that I could at least see my feet I front of me. All of the alleyways creeped me out, in the movies they were always a sign of danger.

5 blocks down and many more to go. I soon felt someone watching me again, like someone was burning holes into my body. A couple blocks ahead I saw a group of rugged scary guys heading in my direction and because I am a weak seventeen year old who someone could easily take advantage of I switch my flashlight off and stuffed my phone in my pocket and immediately look for someway to not cross paths with them but the only way would to go down an alley and gosh did I really not want to do that.

Without any other option I darted down the alley trying to hurry and get to a trash can or something I could hide behind. The alleyway smelled of rotting fish and heavy odor. I kept looking behind me because I just had a gut wrenching feeling someone or something was back there watching me. I held my breath as I watched the men pass by not even bothering to look my way, and after I could no longer see them I could finally breathe again.

I stood up only to have large arms wrap around me and a large hand holding a cloth over my mouth. Attempting to scream and break free of this strangers grasp, I feel cold lips against my ear whisper "Shhh, hush now, someone might hear you and come to your rescue. And we can't have that now can we? Now just breathe in the rag and we'll be done here ". I tried to bite the strangers hand but the cloth was too thick. I began trying to elbow him and grab his hair, but in one swift motion his large hand grabbed my wrists and held them behind my back. I was trying so hard not the breathe but at the same time I was getting light headed when attempting to fight back.

After what felt like forever I finally inhaled the drenched cloth and knew this would be the end for me. This was is I would pass out and possibly die. "That's a good girl. A little stubborn, but I knew you were the one. A beautiful, stubborn, little girl all for me. All for daddy." He breathed into my ear, making me want to vomit. I tried moving but I felt numb and weak. I couldn't do this, this was it for me. He began speaking again but it felt like he was miles away, I drifted into to a sleep so deep it felt like death. And I knew that was what would come.
