For the One I Love (One-Shot Story)

Once upon a time. . . Duh! This will not start with “once upon a time there was a prince and a princess”. That’s old school! But this story will surely end with “they lived happily ever after.”

Since this is a love story it means that this is about LOVE! But, what is love? Can anyone define love? They say that, love is for risk-takers. Love is the seventh sense of human that destroys the six senses and makes a person non-sense.  Love is only for the weak people searching for someone who can lift them up. But Blythe Sophia Ardeiah Marasigan is not weak for she hasn’t felt that love thingy.

She is the Disciplinary President of the East Royale University and the top of the class, while her best friend named Chrissy Alexis Mendiola is the Campus Sweetheart. They are completely opposite, one is studious while the other one is very loud, Blythe is sporty while Alexis is girly, but despite of their differences, they still love each other so much that nothing can tear them apart.

One day, Blythe is walking in their hall to check if the students are attending their classes, then, someone came and pulled her. The one who pulled her was Blake Steven Dorschner, the University Heart throb and the Star Player of the basketball team. Blake is being chased by his ex-girlfriend so, he pulled Blythe and told the girl that Blythe is his new girlfriend. Of course, Blythe was shocked! She tried to escape from that situation but she failed. The news spread all over the university until it reached Alexis.

Alexis loves Blake since high school but she is afraid to tell him for she knows that Blake is a type of boy who will not take relationships seriously. Alexis felt sad when she heard the gossip, she immediately ran towards Blythe and asked if that was true. Blythe said that it was just a rumour.

The next day, Blake told Blythe that she must tell everyone that they are really in a relationship because Blake badly wants to get rid of his ex-girlfriend. Blythe doesn’t want it at first, but because of Blake’s offer, she agreed.

They walk together, eat together, laugh together, they are always together, which made the students think that they are really in a relationship and which made Alexis think that Blythe lied to her. Days passed and they are already close to each other. They knew many things about each other. Blythe unconsciously fell in love with Blake but her best friend is also in love with Blake. Whom will she choose? Her best friend or her first love?

After so many weeks of being together, Blake talked to Blythe. He said that he is already free from his ex and he is going to do their agreement. Blake will court Alexis because in the agreement, Blythe will be Blake’s false girlfriend and in exchange he will court Alexis. Blythe did that for her best friend’s happiness. But she accidentally fell in love with her best friend’s love.

Is she going to let go of her happiness? Or she will be selfish? Is she going to continue loving Blake? Or she will just forget about her feelings? Whom will she choose? Alexis or Blake? These questions were lingering in her mind.

Three years have passed yet Blythe is still in love with her first love but Blake is getting married. Yes. Blake and Alexis are going to marry each other. Yes, Blythe chose to break her own heart to make her best friend happy, for she believes that “nothing can tear them apart”, neither Blake nor other people. She truly values their friendship and she really loves Alexis so much. Blythe is happy for Blake and Alexis.

Blake and Alexis got married, had children and they lived happily ever after.
