"What happened?!" Bek yelled, infuriated, "You could've gotten killed!"
"Sir, we were training and I fired a shot without the silencer," Will confessed, his head down,
"Amateur," Demi whispered in the background. I glared at her. I knew she was jealous because we were a group ahead of her,
"How could we trust you two to watch out for the team if you're so negligent?" Bek continued,
"Dad, they're still training" Cal put in, followed my Logan,
"Yeah, Sir, they just started and accidents do happen"
Bek nodded slowly, considering it. Max was quiet, he sat next to Demi across from me at the table.
"Fine," Bek said finally,
"What?!" Demi said shocked, "Sir, they could have killed all of us! What if the troops called for backup and then the building dot raided?!"
"But it didn't"
"But it could have!" Demi screeched,
"Sir, permission to be dismissed?" Max says getting up when Bek nodded,
I watched him leave and then turned to Bek again, "Sir, it was a mistake, it won't happen again"
"I hope not"
"unbelievable!" Demi says, throwing her arms into the air, and then slumped back into the chair,
"Dismissed"
Back in Will's room, I sat on the edge of his bed, "they don't trust us"
"Is there something I should know?" he asked accusingly,
"No, why?"
"Because Bek is really giving you some slack"
"He's not, it was just a mistake"
"There's something you're not telling me"
"Like what?"
"About the dream. You suspect something, you know it. You just don't want to believe it"
I thought for a second. He was right, "Will... When Max and I were 'together', we could see each other's dreams, when we were both in it. Slowly we were able to communicate through our minds. But recently, before you came, we couldn't anymore. Then the night after he and I fought, I had the dream, the one with you in it. I don't know how exactly but I think-"
He cut me off, "You expect me to believe this?" he said pacing the room,
"Isn't this what you wanted to hear?"
"Alex, it just doesn't make sense. I mean, how? Just suddenly?"
"I think it has something to do with Max being a mutant"
"You're saying that he passed some mind-controlling-mutant-thing, to you enabling you two to communicate? That could make sense, but it doesn't because you had the dream before we even met,"
"Will, I'm not a freakin' psychic I don't speak to dead people and I don't tell the future. It's like you expect me to know everything. I don't!"
"What's all the yelling about?" Max says walking in through the door that we left open,
"Nothing," Will said taking a deep breath and linking his fingers behind his head,
"Okay," Max turning, about to leave,
"Wait," I say reluctantly. He could know the answer,
"Will and I shared a dream"
"What kind of dream?"
I looked at Will and he then looked at Max, who got the message, "Oh, that kind of dream"
"How?"
"How should I know?"
I sighed and leaned back, so my back was on the wall. Will sat next to me and I slipped my hand into his.
"Maybe..." Max said pacing,
"Maybe what?"
"Maybe it wasn't a dream"
