What my eyes have seen

A morning in December

I woke up this morning with your smell all around me,

It was so warm i could have sworn your arms where still tightly wrapped around my waist,

That warmth must have been what kept me asleep through the whole night for once,

It was like one of those dreams that you don't want to let go of,

So you actually attempt to trick yourself that you’re still asleep,

But deep down you know it won't come back.

I finally gave into reality, opened my eyes and I was cuddled deep into your shirt,

Like a thin but huge security blanket keeping me from vulnerable bareness.

The clock glowed 10:20 and I scrambled for my phone.

Deep in the layers of warming blankets I found it,

 Screaming 8 new txt messages,

All from you,

Making sure I’m okay,

Keeping me safe, and secure,

Telling me how long your love stretches for me,

a smile creeps rarely onto my mouth again,

As I think of your face.

'Today will be better'

 I remember,

Today will be good.

'I love you' my thumbs knew the route on my phone easily,

And the message sent.

A good day
