Entry No.17

I have been working on the timeline machine for many months now, and I have finally made some decent progress. I have managed to program the machine to transfer organic matter and living beings through different timelines.  I shall test it out after I have prepared myself. I wonder what the other timelines will be like. I'm prepared for the worst.

I put down my pen and sat back in my chair. This was going to be difficult.

"Dad?"  I heard a small voice from behind me. Sans was there, looking up at me with worry.
"Yes?" I asked. Sans shuffled on his two feet.
"You won't be gone for too long, right?" He asked. I shook my head.
"Of course not, child. I will be back soon." I reassured.

Later on, I was carrying my notepad and my pen, with my trusty black cloak wrapped around me, as I walked towards the machine. I stepped into the machine, and programmed the information necessary in order to transfer myself. The machine began to vibrate, and I closed my eyes.

When I opened them, I was in a forest. I glanced around, and took some notes.

Transfer successful. Located in a safe area.

I began to walk steadily through the woodland, feeling at peace. Although I didn't know exactly where I was, I was sure that this place was safe and secure. I would stay here forever if I could.

Suddenly, I heard a quiet cry. Then another. I stood up straight, keeping alert, as I walked towards where the cries were coming from.

Hearing cries of some sort. Possibly some creatures I'm not aware of in this timeline.

I cautiously continued to walk towards the sounds, until I stopped. And stared. And may have slightly blushed.

In front of me was a small, beautiful human. Tears were dripping down their face, and they were hugging their knees in fear. They were shaking, probably from crying so hard. I looked at them in sympathy, and crouched down next to them.

"Are you alright?" I asked. Their head shot up in surprise, and they stared at me, paralysed.
"P-please don't hurt me..." They begged. I shook my head.
"I'm not going to hurt you. I'm merciful, although I probably don't look it." I chuckled. The human stared at me.
"What do y-you mean? Y-you are a m-monster!" They stuttered, "All m-monsters here are horrible! T-they want to h-hurt us humans!"
"My dear, I am not from this place. I promise that I won't hurt you." I reassured. The human attempted to stop crying, and I patted their back.

"You're a nice monster... That's very strange..." They mumbled.
"Why so?" I questioned, and I whipped out my notebook and pen. The human stared at me.
"Can I see the notebook?" They asked.
"If you tell me why it's strange that I'm nice." I said. They nodded.
"Well... Monsters here have taken over the land. Everything here is theirs, apart from this forest. The humans are too weak to fight back against the monsters. They're too strong. The monsters are merciless. Us humans are their slaves." The human said, and I scribbled down some notes.
"Monsters here are evil then?" I assumed. They nodded.
"I see. Why are you out here?" I asked.
"Like I said, no monsters own this land. I come here to cry my feelings out. I have nobody to talk to, and I'm constantly bullied by everybody. I'm considered extremely weak. Both humans and monsters pick on me to let out their rage, I suppose. It would be better if I just left." The human sighed.
"I see... What's your name, my dear?" I asked.
"Y/N, a silly name, I know." Y/N sighed, looking down. I tilted their face up to look at me.
"It's a beautiful name." I said, smiling at them. Y/N began to blush deeply. Clearly they wasn't used to any affection.
"What's your name?" Y/N asked.
"W.D Gaster. Call me Gaster for short." I replied. Y/N giggled.
"That's a nice name, I like it!" They said happily. I blushed and smiled at them.

"You're a very beautiful human, Y/N." I stated. Y/N blushed as red as Sans' ketchup, and I chuckled.
"You may see the notebook." I said. They nodded, and glanced over at the book.
"Wow, you're a time traveler? That's awesome!" They said. I smiled.
"Well, I'm from another timeline. Much nicer than this one, may I add. I'm the Royal Scientist." I bragged slightly. Y/N gawped at me.
"Wow.... I thought stuff like this didn't exist! I wish I was in your timeline... Anything is better than here." Y/N sighed. I had an idea.

"Well, it may be risky, but would you like to come back to my timeline? Monsters there are a lot nicer, and they'd accept you with open arms. We are located underground, but it's very peaceful, and-"
"Of course! Oh gosh, thank you so much!" Y/N squealed, hugging me. I chuckled and led them to the machine.
"Now, hold on to me." I said, and Y/N hugged me, blushing lightly. I stroked their hair and hugged them back.
"Good. Now, close your eyes." I said.
"Is this a ploy to kiss me or something?" Y/N giggled. I blushed.
"W-well... It was not my intention originally, but now that you mention it..." I blushed. Y/N giggled and kissed my cheek happily. I must have blushed so hard that I looked like a beetroot.
"Well... Hold on, and do close your eyes. It's for safety measures." I assured them. They giggled and closed their eyes. I switched on the machine, and inserted the information needed. The machine began to light up and vibrate, and I closed my eyes.
"Screw it." I whispered.
"What was tha-"
I pressed my lips against Y/N's, and the machine blasted us back to my timeline.

By the time we stepped out of the machine, we were looking very...flustered...

"Dad! Who's this?" Sans said, running up to me.
"This is Y/N. They are here to stay." I replied. Sans cheered, and dragged Y/N off to meet Papyrus. I chuckled and wrote one last notation in my notebook.

I met the most beautiful living being. Transfer back to my timeline was successful. I'm so glad I used the machine today. I'm excited to see how it escalates from here.
