The moving van rolls in the driveway and our car slowly behind. As I open my door and step out of the car I take in the fresh air and look up at what must be my new home. I gaze around to see what looks like a very peaceful neighbourhood, there were kids drawing with chalk on the street, parks and family's riding bikes. I had a good feeling about this place I just couldn't put my finger on it. I notice some boys next door playing basketball out the front, they looked about my age and although I could only see the back of them didn't seem to be too bad looking. I snap back into motion and help everyone unpack the boxes and bring them inside.

finally I reached my bed. my room was amazing I mean I've seen better but it's bigger than my home in Colorado so I'm not complaining. I sit on the couch against my window with my favourite book 'to kill a mockingbird' as I hear laughing and screaming and music blaring from next door. I look over my shoulder to see the boys next door in what seems like an average boys room throwing flour at eachother?! Why are boys so stupid sometimes? one of the boys catch my eyes so I smirk and look away.
"Hey!" He said his voice was raspy but sweet at the same time."Uh hi," I replied half laughing. He was shirtless but covered in flour except his face. He had a black bandana in his chocolate hair that was pretty perfect. I felt my face burn up but I could t take my eyes away.
"You wanna come and join?" He asked and his friends Immediately appear in the picture. I heard a few "Dayummmm" -s and other comments but I didn't take notice.
"That's okay I'm good but thanks," I look back at my book and hope they go back to... Whatever they were doing.
"I'm jacob by the way" he smirked and looked at the ground then back at me. Jacob I say to myself jacobbbb what a cute na- holy schnitzel! I knew he looked familiar! Obviously how could I be so blind. I soon realise he's still waiting for me to reply so I do.
"Mia..."
"Mia?" He says smiling
"That's my name..." The tension is strange but in a weird way I liked it. He asked if I wanted to hang out later and I didn't want to sound desperate so I just simply said maybe. Besides he might not be all he's talked up to be.
