Rusted Memories
It seems like only yesterday that you were placed in my trust.
But I've forgot about those memories and laid them to rust.
I've forgotten about the emotions that once plagued my heart,
I had to quickly replace my missing part.
But I was broken and lived so unhappily,
Because without you, I had no family.
You can try, but the heart never forgets,
Our beloved companions and pets.
My hands were willing to catch you,
But I crumbled like dirt, there was nothing I could do.
There still is no answer as to why,
I'm grounded here and you're in the sky.
Dear owner, do not be sad.
Remember the amazing moments we had?
And even if you cannot see me,
In your heart I will always be.
Even if we're no longer together,
The memories of us will live forever.
So on your darkest days, look to the sky.
I am the star that twinkles in your eye.
