Chapter 28

Day 27

Xiumin's POV

I can hear the sound of the monitor. I can feel pain on my legs, head and arms. I can hardly move a finger. The pain on my head makes it harder to remember even a single, simple thing.

I gather my strength, only to open my eyes. It's so hard. Difficult. Painful.

Once I open them, light piercing through my eyelids. My vision was all blurry. I took time to adjust them to the brightness. Everything seems calm. Where am I?

I tried to look around the place, trying my best to stretch my neck. But something stop me.

Why am I at the hospital?

Everything seems so wrong. I was blinking so blankly trying to figure out everything. Until slowly, images of the incident happen to rush in my mind. The memories of myself getting into the middle of the road to help him.

Sena's father. Haeri's father.

I cannot not risk myself for him. He mean a lot to Sena. Even to Haeri. They need him after losing their mother.

"Kim Minseok," the voice was so painful to listen to. And I almost thought it was my mother. I tried to open my mouth, but no words can be mustered. "What do you think you're doing?"

Not Sena. Not Sehun. Even Haeri. Of all people, it has to be him.

"I thought you're going to take care of yourself," Kris shook his head disapprovingly. "I just gone back to Canada for awhile and I already heard an accident involving a friend of mine. What's gotten into you?"

Man, how bad I want to stop him. I just wake up and he's already stressing me with questions that I clearly don't know how to answer. He's acting like a father.

Tsk.

"You know that I hate letting history repeating itself, don't you?" He took a vacant chair as he sat down beside the bedside.

History? Ah~

"I assure you," I mustered up, finally able to find words. "It won't happen."

"Is it because of her again?" He raised a brow with annoyance clearly seen on his face. "That lucky girl must mean a lot to you."

"A lot," I emphasized.

"I was scared, you know?" Of course I don't. "The last time I went back to Canada, and I came back here only to loss a friend of mine."

Chanyeol. He's talking about Chanyeol.

"I don't want that to happen."

I averted my gaze away. Everything seem to be stopping. The clock, even. I can still feel the fast beating of my heart once Chanyeol left us. Him, out of all people.

"Where's the others?" I tried to change the topic as I gulped down the lump form in my throat.

"School," he simply answered.

I look at the clock hanging on the hard and white wall. They'll be here in any moment.

"You shan't do that ever again, you understood?" Luhan pointed a warning finger to me. I rolled my eyes at his childish attitude. "Hey, I'm being serious. Stop rolling your eyes."

"Ugh, fine," I groaned. I look around the room filled with number of boys.

"Sena got some errands to complete," Kyungsoo informed as if he can read my mind. "If that's what you're looking for."

"Sehun?" I muttered.

"He's visiting Mr Kim with Haeri," Baekhyun answered me. "Oh, I don't think Haeri ever visited you though. Something happen between them."

"Them?" I repeated.

"Haeri and Sena," he answered my simple question. "Chanyeol says that both of them didn't get along well."

"Where's Chen?" I wanted to ask everyone. Even Kai isn't here.

"Chen's trying to figure out how to get both of them back together. With the help of Hana," Suho added. "I don't even know how it will work."

"If you're going to ask every single people who's absent now, let me tell you," Luhan volunteered.

"Kai went for Mr Kim too," Kyungsoo interrupted.

"I was about to tell him," Luhan frowned.

"Chanyeol says that Haeri hate--" Baekhyun stopped his word after realizing what the continuation was. So Chanyeol is here too. "Wait? What the? Why?"

"Hate what?" I manage to raise a brow.

"H-Hate," he suddenly stutter on the word. "I don't think I can say it. It's her who should say it."

It's something private? It can be. After awhile of spending time with these dorks, Sehun entered together with Kai and followed by Sena.

"Why are you doing this?" Sena scolded me like a kid I am. "You shouldn't have. You're risking yourself."

I stayed silent. The memories of her being too close with Sehun bring bitterness in my feelings. She's so many. One moment, she's the Sena that I know. She's so open. She's too close with Sehun.

But now, she cared for me more than her father?

She got multi personality that Haeri needs to handle alone. Being her twin must've been a challenge. But I haven't seen Haeri. Is it true she never visited me even when I was unconscious? But why?

Have I done something wrong?

"What?" Kai's annoying voice interrupt the atmosphere. He's putting his phone to his ear. His expression soften bit by bit.

I couldn't even figure out what's happening.

"Are you insane?" He's speaking as if we're not here. Or that he wanted all of us to hear him. "Fine."

He put down his phone as Suho asked the curiosity for all of us. I observe his facial expression. Nothing change. It's unreadable.

"Haeri..." was the only word he could muster out before gulping.

By the vibration of her name, Baekhyun stiffen. And I immediately got the answer to that. Of course. It's obvious after all.

"I-I got to go," Kai excused himself.

"Wait," Baekhyun stopped him. "What's happening?"

"Chen and Hana," he paused. Kai's searching for something in Baekhyun's eyes. He took longer time. Before he spoke out. "I need to go."

"I'll come," Baekhyun volunteered.

"No," Kai protested. "I mean - it's okay. I can go alone. Everything's okay."

"Not until you tell me," Baekhyun's face was so amusing. It's so rare. He's furious. His face says it all. And I know how he feel.

"I tell you but you need to stay," Kai demanded.

"No," Baekhyun stubbornly said with his eyebrows furrowed in frustration.

"Then find it by yourself."

"Is this how you treat me?" Usually, by this statement, Baekhyun will pout. But not now. He's so serious.

"Fine. Just don't regret," Kai was annoyed and that can be seen clearly upon his frown. "Haeri's missing."
