Dylan's POV
"okay" dad said as he let go, "go get packed, and have fun. If something is ever wrong, call me"
"I will" I said as he wiped a tear from my face, "why am I crying" I tried to ask, but that just make it worse.
"It's just all built up inside you. You know, because you probably felt like this before but we're never able to let it out because you have too much going on" he paused, "it should know, but just cheer up. You helped Annie, you're part of the reason she's bette-"
"And part of the reason she got hurt in the first place"
"No, no that wasn't your fault. Listen Dylan, you're an amazing son. I couldn't be more proud of you, and you're not the reason she got hurt. Now go pack" he gave me a smile and a nudge. I began walking upstairs.
I felt better. I don't know why or how, but I felt better.
I got to my room and found my suitcase. It's the only one I have and I used it for our trip to the beach house. I managed to shove most my stuff in here but of course some didn't fit.
I got the duffle bag I used for soccer and fit the rest of my stuff in there. It took about 10 minutes because I don't have much to pack. My closet was basically empty. Some of the clothes I never wear were still in there, I mean what's the point of bringing them.
I walked downstairs to see my dad by the door.
"Need a ride?" He asked.
I laughed, "how'd you know"
"Your jeep isn't here so I'm assuming you forgot it at school when you went to the hospital" he chuckled, then opened the door. I made my way out and got into his sports car. I put my stuff in the trunk and we drove to Annie's.
"Call Annie and tell her to be ready to come out" Dad said.
"You're driving us to school?" I asked.
"Yeah well you guys don't have a car, and walking would take to long with your bags" he said.
"I guess now is a good time to tell you about Annie's storm powers" I began. The whole car ride, I explained Annie's powers, of course dad didn't belive me at first but after showing him videos of Annie when she was learning, he finally did.
"Well judging by these videos, I don't think you should go long distances with her powers until she's better mastered them, so I'm driving you guys"
"Okay" I smiled as I picked up the phone and called Annie
"Hello?"
"Hey Annie, my dad is going to drive us so can you and Tyler come outside, we're almost here"
"Yeah sure, that's better than me trying to make an ice path again, especially 'cause we have suitcases now" she laughed.
"Okay awesome, we'll be there in 5"
"Okay byee"
"Bye"
I hung up the phone and looked out the window, waiting for my somewhat new life to begin.
***
An hour or so later, my dad dropped us all off at school.
"Bye guys, have fun!" He said as he drove off.
The three of us turned around to look at our school. It still looked the same, maybe a few adjustments here or there. I could tell some minor things were added.
"Let's walk around the back" I said, not taking my eyes off our school.
"Why" asked Tyler.
I simply pointed to a sign. It said:
Please all returning students, follow these yellow signs to the dorms. You will find your assigned dorms and partners. All new students please follow the green signs.
Annie and I followed the yellow signs and Tyler followed the green. Not too long after, we reached the back of the building.
"Woah" both of us said.
"That's huge! How did we never notice?!" Annie exclaimed.
"Probably because we were so busy in our own problems" I suggested.
We continued walking and came across a board. A sign on top said,
Please find your name and go to the room number beside it
Annie looked at the p's for her last name, and I looked at the O's. Thankfully I found my name, and right under was Annie, so I assumed we'd be in the same room. Both of us picked up a key that was beside their name.
We all made our way into the building looking for our dorms. Thankfully we bumped into Tyler
"Got your key?" I asked.
"Yep"
We all continued to walk together. Until Annie and I took a left and Tyler took a right.
"Tyler where are you going" I laughed "aren't we in the same dorm?"
He looked down, "I guess not"
"Oh..oh. I guess we're always together so I assumed..."
"It's okay man well hang out at lunches right?" He said.
I looked up and smiled, "yeah"
He turned around and began walking. Annie and I still stood there, watching him walk away. Suddenly Tyler started running. Annie grabbed my arm.
"What-" she began to ask but cut herself off. It looked like he was hugging someone, when we focused we were able to tell he was hugging Ashley!
"Should we go meet her?" Annie asked.
"Later" I replied as we began walking to our dorm.
The walk was long and boring, we passed many of the younger dorms. Apparently the older you are, the higher floor your dorm is on. So ours was a few floors up.
When we finally made it I unlocked the door. We entered, only to see that we'd be sharing our dorm with someone.
"Great!" I yelled, then sighed as I threw my hands up in the air in frustration, "you"
