Sean’s POV
Red, blue and white flashes were illuminating the night sky and sirens followed soon after. I slowed the car down and pulled to the side of the road. Panic soon rose as I thought about what was in the car with me. I was on my way to make a deal. I took two deep breathes and rolled the window down. The cop got out of the cruiser and marched to the window.
“Sir you were going 80 when the speed limit was 65,” He said spitefully. “I need to see your license and registration.”
“I was only going 5 over the speed limit,” I said matter-a-fact.
“I clocked you for 10 miles going 80, unless there’s something wrong with your car that’s making you fly down the road, I suggest you keep quiet,” He turned back walking towards his cruiser.
As soon as he left, I let my head fall back on to the head rest. My heart was banging in my chest. I closed my eyes and took some more deep breathes. At this point, I’m hoping he’d give me my ticket so I can leave. I take a look in the rear view to see if was coming up to the car; I was soon distracted by the way I looked. My dark brown hair a mess and my bright blue eyes were shot. Rubbing my hands across my face, I can feel the hair on my chin prick at my fingers. I sit back when I see the cop walking towards my car.
Leaning into the window, he hands me the ticket “it’s a $200 fine sir, here’s an envelope, you can send it through mail or at the court house.”
Taking this to court I said to in my head. I took the ticket and envelope then officer left. I glanced behind me to check to see if there were any cars coming, then I sped off back onto highway. All that ran through my mind was that he didn’t search me or my car. Later I pulled up to the old factory I was making the deal at. I stopped the car and parked. I grabbed the stash and made my way to the doors. A guy with a red hoodie stood by the door. I walked up to him and made the deal.
“Thanks man,” he said shaking as if he was cold. I could tell what the drugs were doing to him.
*************
When I pulled up to the parking lot of my apartment, I walked up the stairs and into my place. I threw my jacket to the left and it fell on the couch. My eyes focus on my room as I walked down the hall. I dove into my bed, my eyes sleepily closed. I didn’t want to be living this lifestyle but its how I make my money. When I looked at the guy in the hoodie I could tell that he’s been on it for awhile. His face was scratched and scared. Shaking my head I tried to put those thoughts out of my mind.
My pocket started to buzz, my hand searched for it.
“hello?” I spoke into the phone.
“Hey man, its tribble. I got that job you wanted.” He said
“what job was that?” my face scrunched up as I was trying to think what he was talking about.
“the one by the court house, doing the coffee thing.”
“oh yeah, ok when do I have to be there?”
“Tomorrow morning around 9, dress up , I gotta go I’ll hit you up later.” He said before he hung up the phone. I closed my eyes once again falling into a deep sleep.
