Is That True?

Thomas POV:

It's been a while since I've been in class. So walking up to the school I try to keep from running into any distractions. Suddenly someone grabs the collar of my shirt. "Sorry Thomas we need you. Lets go."

One moment I'm on my way to school the next Kai is dragging me onto a plane. On the plane Is Mandy, Ty and Paul. Mandy smiled at me "I have no clue what's going on Kai just told me to get on the plane. I'm happy 'cuz he gave me an energy drink"

We all sat down and talked for a while about nothing. Kai refused to tell us what was going on. Eventually I fell asleep and leaned on Mandy who pushed me onto Ty. I don't know when we landed or where we landed. It doesn't look like it's anywhere near civilization. Kai stood in front of the group with a professional look on his face. "Welcome to your new home. This is the heart of the Amazon rain-forest. The school has a small center over here for students in danger. I don't mean to worry you but, um, Thomas you may not be heading back to the school for a while. All of your animals will be brought here tomorrow. I'll see you to your living quarters after that everyone must leave I will be back every three days to check on you."

He turned around and walked off. He lead us around the forest he actually seemed to know where he was going. After an hour of walking we arrived at a weird building. It really fit in with the scenery but it didn't at the same time. Its a modern style home, clean lines everywhere but it was painted to blend in and covered in plants.

Kai handed me a key and motioned toward the door. When the key went in the door it asked me to put my hand on a small scanner. It spouted out my name and a couple random factoids about me. Then the door opened. Kai stepped in before me. Three things fell from the ceiling and charged at the door. The door shut and wouldn't open. I stuck in the key but it didn't respond, I put my hand on the scanner access denied, and I tried ramming the door open I should have seen how that was going to end before it began. Paul tapped me on the shoulder. "Kai is fine. The door will open in just a moment."

Ty looked around. "So, uh, in the meantime want to explain what Kai meant on everything he's said since we got here? I'm honestly so confused right now. Students in danger? Thomas not going back to school? What is going on?" Paul shrugged lightly. Ty got so frustrated he pinned Paul up against the wall. "Paul that isn't an answer. Tell me now what is going on?"

The door opened. Kai was out in an instant holding Ty off the ground. Kai may be shorter than Ty by half a foot but in this moment Kai is a giant. "You need to calm down. You want answers you come to me." Tossing Ty aside Kai turned to me. Instinctively, I flinched. "Thomas I'm sorry about that, but, um welcome home. Um, ignore the broken robots they'll be your home security system they'll be good as new in a couple hours. I promise I didn't break them to badly." I looked at him so confused "Oh yeah the robots are self repairing. They will always attack the first person to enter the house but now you can go in just fine."

Not the question I was confused about but good to know I guess. I walked into the house. I'm afraid to doubt Kai to much right now. Stepping over three broken androids I walked into a large open floor plan house. I heard wows from behind me. I walked around I actually had a second story and more than three rooms. At the end of our tour Kai sat us down on the massive couch. "Thomas, most of all you deserve an explanation of what's going on. First I think Paul and I should actually introduce ourselves. I am special agent Olivera soon to to be Williams. We were actually assigned your case before we ever met. Paul had the brilliant idea to introduce ourselves to help us protect you."

Paul nodded lightly with a small smile. "See the school saw that you will develop powers stronger than just talking to animals. When they see potential they'll take students and assign them to watch over others. We have been watching over you since you were 10. I was only 12 so it was kinda weird. Anyway I was going somewhere with this. Right! The school has become unsafe for you. There are students who have suddenly become possessed. I don't mean one or two the current count is 88 at the moment. They are all calling for the removal of your head. So school asked us if we could keep you safe. If the number were lower you wouldn't even be hearing about this but since the number is so high so suddenly I thought it would be best to bring you here."

I feel safe in Kai and Paul's care but also I feel like my privacy was violated on accident. He was probably right bringing me here. "I have a couple questions. I guess most can be asked later. I have one that I need to be answered soon. I want to know what you guys are going to do. Are you all staying? Are you all leaving?"

Paul looked at Kai who was cringing. "I'm sorry to say this Thomas. I really, really am, but you are going to be here alone for a while. Like I said when we first got here I'll be back every three days. That's it for your human contact. Mandy and Ty are here to say goodbye for now. I'm so sorry Thomas. We promise we'll bring you back when we can and I promise I'll bring them at least once a month but that's actually the best I can do."

I nodded wiping tears from my eyes. Mandy hugged me softly and cried. When she let go Ty pulled me over to him he kissed me and started crying. Kai looked at us and started crying. The only person not crying was Paul and he was sad. I could hear him thinking 'I will not cry' chanting it in his head. After a couple hours of crying they all filed out leaving me sitting in my new house alone. I sat on the couch looking at the floor. There were no voices, no animals noises, not even an electrical hum. Even with the lights and the microwave cooking there was no sound. I turn on the speakers even the music can't break the silence. I lie down on the couch and just wish someone were here. Mandy, Ty, Kai, Paul, Jenna, Steven, Hell I'd settle for anyone. Unfortunately, my prayers were not answered as I continue to lie alone in silence.
