book worm, one

Jasey waved back at her friends, Kyle Donovan and Quinn Baldwin, before running off to her silver Sedan. Her last class for the day had finally gotten out. It's a requirement for every freshman to take a seminar class and they seem to drag on forever. She couldn't be happier to finally be out of the class. So far college has been enjoyable for her, as she expected. Jasey has always been one of those rare kids who enjoyed coming to school and couldn't wait to go to university. She would be going to her sophomore year in a couple of months seeing that they only have one week of classes remaining. She hopes one day she'll graduate and become an author. Her wish to become a New York Times best seller plays into her love for reading. All her life books have been her solace and that hasn't changed.

Jasey quickly threw her bag into the trunk of her car and jogged to the driver seat. She had to get to the library before they closed. Last weekend she had checked out five books and she's finished them all. She didn't want to hold the burden of returning them longer than she needed to, so now is a perfect time.

The library is about fifteen minutes from campus and ten minutes from the apartment she shares with Quinn. Quinn and Jasey have been friends since primary school. They planned to go to the same university, which they did, and share an apartment, which they also did.

When Jasey finally reached the library, she fetched the books from her trunk and shoved them into her bag. The familiar smell of old books hit her like a truck when she entered.  Jasey let out a sigh, content with the smell.  She waited in line for only a moment before getting to the desk.

"Evening, Charlize!"

"Hello doll!  Back with those books, I see." Jasey nodded softly, giving a light chuckle to the old woman.

It only took Charlize a couple minutes to put in the return in the system.  Jasey didn't stay at the counter the whole time.  She stayed the first couple of minutes before going off to look at more books.  The sound of the library door opening couldn't even draw Jasey's attention from the novel she had just picked up.

A jolt to Jasey's shoulder caused her to drop the book in her hand.  Her eyes shot up to who had bumped into her. She was met with lively brown eyes.

"Woah, uh I'm sorry." Her eyes widened at the boy's voice. She didn't know what it would sound like but she hadn't expected him to be English nor did she expect it to be so high pitched.

"Um, yeah it's fine!" She bent down to pick up the novel she'd dropped, only to see that he had picked it up already. He chuckled and placed the book back into her hand.

"What's your name?" he asked

"Jasey," she said, shyly brushing a pice of her blonde hair behind her ear.

"Nice to meet you, Jasey. I'm Tom Holland." Tom half expected Jasey to start fangirling over him, given he just starred in a Captain America movie, but she didn't.

"Same to you, Mr. Holland." Meeting his eyes for the second time, she smiled sweetly at him before completely turning and starting to walk away.

Tom's jaw dropped.  He smiled and went to grab her forearm.  Startled, she spun around to face him again. "You should text me sometime. I mean you don't have to but --"

She chuckled, cutting him off.  She pulled his hand up and grabbed a pen from her purse.  She jotted down her number on the boy's hand before winking and walking away.

"Lord,"
