"Hurry up, Cambry!" Michelle calls to me in the locker room. She starts walking away, and I follow, pulling my sleek hair into a high ponytail.

"You know not to rush me! Perfection like this takes time," I flash a quick smile, and Michelle rolls her eyes. "Come on, let's go." I strut forward, and my drones- eh hem, Michelle and Leah- fall into step behind me. Perfect, just the way I like it. Smiling a secret little smile I walk past Caden, fluttering my eyelashes. I pass, calm, calculating. Seventeen inches in front of him. The best distance for him to catch a whiff of my delectable perfume, see the gloss on my lips, and check me out. I'm not like those ridiculously desperate girls that fall at the sight of that flawless face, I know I'm the better one. He should be falling at the sight of me. I act like I'm the hottest dang thing this school's ever seen, because, let's be real, I am. What the heck? Instead of smiling back- ohmigosh those brilliant teeth- he turns away, talking to his friends. What's his problem? He must be telling them about me.

"Cambry, Cambry, hello?" Leahs talking to me, ughhh. Who doesn't want to talk to me? But this? Really? She's basically waving her hands in front of my face! Why do I even talk to her? Whatever, I plaster a plastic smile on my face. It's the generic one reserved for people I pretend to care about, but don't actually care for. Leah is practically glowing, it's almost sickening how much she worships me, but I drink it in. Who doesn't love being worshipped?

"Hello, personal bubble!" Leah steps back, and I nod. That's right, back in your place, behind me.

"Did you even hear her?" Michelle eyes me, looking a tinge annoyed. Wait no, the look's gone, I must have imagined it. Actually, I definitely did, no one's ever annoyed by me. I smile cooly, winking. The wink always works on my friends. Some guy near me thinks its for him and looks like he's about to hyperventalate. Oh, I love having that effect on people.

"Yea, course. How could I not?" My hair flips over my shoulder. Leah's simpering look confirms that she doesn't even care that I have practically no idea what she said. She's just melting from my approval. It's not like what she said was of any importance anyway. Dang, Michelle's still eyeing me. She's been doing that for awhile now.

"So, what did she say?" Normally, this kind of thing from people would annoy me completely, but it's Michelle, so I let it go. Anyone else? I burn them to pieces. Figuratively, of course.

Michelle and I go way back, she's the only one that really matters to me. The only person I really tell everything to. I guess that's why I let her back sass me some, but trust me, anyone else? They're dead. Even my other friends, which, by the way, I've got a ton.

"You know, the thing with the thing." I get a look in return. It's not enough. Leaning in I whisper, "Come on, you and I both know that it wasn't important anyway." Sighing, Michelle turns. What's her problem? Oblivious as always Leah chatters on.

"So Cambry, What were you guys just talking about?" Ugh, Leah's voice is just so annoying! Like the great person I am, I answer kindly, and slowly. That way she can understand.

"Just how these gym uniforms totes bring out your eyes!" I sound bubbly, and I add another wink in. I'm overdoing, but Leah just eats it up.

"Do-do-do you really think so?" God, Leah's a freaking blubbering idiot!

No. "Yea, course! Would I ever lie to you?" Lie. Lie. Lie.

"Wow, thanks Cambry! You're so the best!" Inside I'm laughing at her. I wait, I know she'll return the compliment, it's a rule. Beaming so hard I think her face will split, Leah squeals with excitement. I can tell she's been saving up this compliment all day. Michelle knows it too, knows I won't be pleased. She shakes her head. "Cambry, you are like... so beautiful." I snicker, it's all been heard before. Is this it?

"Thanks." I walk faster, Leah doesn't need more. The glass door into the gym looms before me, I step aside, nonchalantly waiting. Leah opens it for me, holding it for Michelle and I. I don't know why, but a chill crawls up my arm, this door has always creeped me out. Whatever.
