I feel cold. What time is it? Why's it so dark? I feel hungry. I don't feel like food. Where am I? Is Frank here? Oh, my eyes are closed. Why do they feel so droopy? Why does my neck hurt? I should get up.
I somehow managed to lift my eyelids just enough to see the dark room around me. I could see everything clearly, even though it was so dark. I just shrugged it off and sat up.
'Frank?' I called, but no one answered. I looked around and realised I was still in Frank's room however, it was completely messy. Frank usually did a good job at keeping it clean, but there were clothes stewed around the room. I got up and almost fell over from how weak my legs were. Luckily, I was able I hold myself up enough to open the door.
When I swung the door open, I found Frank on the couch. He had bags under his eyes, and all the blinds were closed. The room was almost pitch black and not one bit of sunlight could seep in.
'Frank?' I muttered, taking a few steps towards him. As soon as I called his name, his head shot up.
'(Y/n)!' He grinned widely and jumped up.
'Uh...yeah, hi. When're we going to graduation?'
His smile slowly faded as he chewed on his lip.
'Uh...w-we missed it. I'm sorry. You were so tired and I just-'
'It's fine, Frank. I'm still kinda tired. What's up with your room, though? It wasn't like that last night.' I asked, but Frank just shook it off.
'Don't worry about it. Anyway, how're you feeling? Good?' He grabbed my hands and dragged me to the couch, sitting us both down.
'Uh, yeah. I'm really hungry though. Can we go get food?' I yawned before resting my head on his shoulder and closing my eyes.
'U-Um...I-I can go get you a drink...' He almost whispered as his finger rapidly tapped on the couch.
'Mm. A drink would be nice.'
'G-Good! I got something in the fridge for you! Hold on!' He nervously shot up and ran to the kitchen, opening the fridge and pouring a red liquid into a glass.
'What's that? It looks yummy!' I smiled as Frank carried it back to the couch.
'U-Uh...juice. Try it and tell me if you like it.' He handed it to me and watched me closely. Without thinking, I took a sip. The taste was absolutely incredible. It was sweet and thick, and even the smell was appealing.
'It tastes amazing.' I quickly gulped the rest of it down.
'Good, good. That's- that's good.' His nerves shon through his speech.
'What's wrong? You seem nervous..' I laid back and rested my head on Frank's lap, hoping to calm him down like it always did. He smiled softly as I lifted my arm and stroked his cheek.
'You're so beautiful, Frank...' I muttered softly before Frank lifted his arm to itch his head. As he did so, I noticed bite marks on his wrist. Before he could do anything, I quickly grabbed his arm and looked at the mark.
'Don't look at-'
'Frank, how'd you get this?' I traced my finger over the scab that was already beginning to form whilst speaking in a serious tone.
'Don't worry about it. It was just a bite, no big deal.'
'Frank, it is a big deal. It looks infected. Maybe I should-'
'No, no. You shouldn't do anything. It's fine. Really.' He cut me off and tried to retract his arm but I held a firm grip.
When did I get so strong?
'Frank, this is serious. If someone hurt you, you need to tell me.' I spoke slightly louder then I meant to. I was feeling moody, so I took another breath. Frank's eyes widened just before I took the moment to calm down.
'S-Sorry, (Y/n).' He apologised.
'It's alright. Sorry, I feel really moody at the moment. I don't know why.' I sighed before sitting up and placing my cup on the table.
'Do you feel cold?'
'Yeah.'
'Hungry?'
'Yes.'
'Unfulfilled?'
'Yes.'
'Different.'
'Yes.'
Frank's heart sank and it was clear on his face. I couldn't tell what was wrong with him. Frank looked like everything he loved was broken and he couldn't fix it.
'Did you want a blanket?' He finally spoke, standing up.
'Yes please.' I barely whispered as I watched him walk away.
The few seconds he was gone were almost unbearable. I couldn't stand being alone. It felt like I was watching all my family members walk away from me again. I remembered that feeling of falling to my knees and screaming, begging for them not to leave. The pain of being left alone. Those months I spent trying to hide it all from Frank.
I began to sob quietly, feeling each tear bring a temporary warmth to my body until Frank re-entered the room.
'I tried to- (Y/n)? What's wrong?' He quickly rushed over to me and wrapped the blanket around me, holding me close for extra warmth. I still felt cold, even with all the hugs and blankets.
'F-Frank, I...I feel so empty. I don't want to be alone anymore...god, I can't handle this feeling...' I cried harder before gasping loudly and crying some more.
'You're not alone, (Y/n). I-'
'I'm so hungry, Frank. I feel different..I'm cold, my neck hurts, my mouth feels weird and I just wanna go back to normal.' Frank swallowed hard, before putting his shaky hand on my cheek.
'You should rest...maybe you'll feel better when you wake up.' He muttered.
'Okay...'
