Hey guys. So I managed to whip something up tonight, but I actually really hate this chapter so I may go back and completely delete it and rewrite it. We will see, otherwise it's just a huge filler chapter. Hope y'all enjoy and please continue all the wonderful voting, commenting, and fanning!
Chapter 36
Ivy’s POV
I opened my eyes groggily as I looked around my room. Confused, I rolled away from Cole’s warmth and turned to face my clock. Squinting I checked the time. 7:23.
Sitting up, I rubbed my eyes and yawned. I felt the bed shift as Cole stirred. Turning, I watched him as he stretched his hand out, feeling for me next to him. I put a hand over my mouth as I watched, trying not to giggle as I watched my best friend.
As he continued searching for me, his eyebrows scrunched up in confusion until he finally cracked open one eye. Not seeing me next to him, he looked around in confusion.
I laughed at his face when he squinted up at me in confusion. “Oh, Cole, your face,” I said, giggling.
“Huh?” he mumbled, rubbing his eyes. He rolled onto his back and stretched his arms over his head. I flinched at the sound of his joints popping. He looked over at me, a smug look on his face as he watched me squirm.
I looked around my room and back at the clock again, 7:25 flashing on the screen. I looked down at Cole in confusion. He was watching me, a small smile on his face, but I ignored the weird look.
“Hey, Cole, what are we doing sleeping at 7:25?” I asked him curiously. Not hearing an answer, I looked at him puzzled. He was looking at me with worry plastered all across his face.
Slowly he sat up and reached forward pulling me closer to him so I was sitting onto of his legs, straddling him. “You don’t remember anything?” he asked me quietly, brushing my hair back behind my ear.
Okay, now I’m really confused.
“Remember what?!” I asked exasperated. Cole looked away from me worriedly as he had an internal battle with himself. His eyebrows were creased together as he fought his little battle between himself.
I reached forward and grasped his hair in my hand, pulling his face up to look at me. I gave him a warning look, daring him to lie to me.
He sighed as he reached up and gently pulled my fingers out of his hair. He looked down as he played with my fingers, still trying to organize his thoughts. I allowed him some time as I sat quietly, watching him mess with my hands.
“Okay, what’s the last thing you remember?” he asked me quietly, glancing up at me through his insanely long lashes that any girl would be jealous of.
I scrunched my eyebrows up in concentration. “I stayed home from school today and you stayed with me. We slept until almost 3:00,” I said, thinking aloud. I could feel Cole watching me as I looked just past his left shoulder at the wall.
“Go on,” he encouraged me.
“Oh, we went downstairs and had a flour war as I started making brownies,” I said smiling as I thought back to Cole and I chucking flour across the kitchen.
I smiled up at Cole, but he was still looking at me worriedly. “What else?” he encouraged.
“Um,” I trailed off thinking. Suddenly it hit me. “OH, Michael came by to bring my homework! And he brought me food, which was really sweet,” I said, a cheesy smile on my face.
“Anything else?” Cole asked me, frustrated.
I glared at him. “What’s got your panties in a wad?” I teased, hoping to lighten the mood. He just looked at me in annoyance before dropping my hands that he was still messing with and running his hands across his face as if he were suddenly exhausted.
