Frank

Mikey had told me where the spare key was kept and it had quickly let myself in before charging up the stairs. I could hear the loud pained sobs from the hallway. I let out a puff of breath and prepared myself for what could be on the other side of that door.

I knocked lightly and called out the pained boys name before opening the door to his apartment. You could almost smell the sadness and pain that radiated from Gerard. He was sat on the floor leaning against his bed with his bright red hair tangled and sweaty as he cried.

"Hey, it's okay." I said softly and crouched beside him.

"No it's not." he muttered. I had no idea that those three words could sound so bitter, I had used them and heard them in similar ways before but never like that.

"Gerard, look at me." I told him. He didn't so I reached up a hand to his chin and turned his face to look at me. "Don't be so sad, it's okay." I told him and say down beside him.

He just shook his head and tried to get up and run but I wouldn't let him, I tugged him back down and into my lap. My arms wrapped around his waist and held him in the space between my legs.

"Everyone goes through stuff. You're not alone Gerard." I told him softly.

"I know..." he mumbled brokenly. "I just- I-I... I don't feel like I should be a boy... I feel like I should be a girl or something." he told me. his voice was quiet almost as if he didn't want to hear the words that came from his mouth.

"If it makes you feel any better, I'm starting to question my 'straightness' because of a rather beautiful red haired dude I met recently." I told.

A small giggle escaped his lips.

"I wonder who that is. Do I know him?" he asked with the smallest of smiles gracing his lips.

"Yeah you could say that." I replied and licked my lips.

This boy, even when he was as had me feeling all sorts of ways. 'Well Brendon, you were right, straight things can get bent. Rather easily is seems.' I thought to myself as I watched Gerard as he leaned his head against my shoulder.
