Hope

My name is Addison. People call me Addie for short. I'm 18. And live in my apartment with my best friend Skye.

I woke up to my alarm. It was 10:00 am. I had band practice at 11:30.

I hopped in the shower my hair needed a good wash. After i blow dryer my hair then straightened it. I put on my black skinny jeans with a crop top that said Free on it. I put on my black high tops and my infinity bracelet. I walked over to my mirror and put on my eyeliner, mascara, and lipgloss. I grabbed my iPhone and put on my zebra print case. I went to the kitchen and looked over the counter to see Skye kissing her boyfriend, Logan. In our living room. "Get a room geez I don't want to eat in front of a view as disgusting as that."

"Haha come on Addie just because you're single doesn't mean we can't have fun"

"I rather be single than date a total douchebag"

"He's not a douchebag Adds..."

"Fine. he's an asshole"

I grabbed a granola bar and my bag and walked out the door. He treated her like shit I don't know why she likes him. He's not even the slightest bit cute. He's so dumb he probably failed kindergarten. like seriously. I hopped into my white mustang and drove to meet the band. We had a gig at Molly blooms next weekend. It was our 5th one within 2 months I was pretty excited.

When I got there I realized I forgot my guitar. Oh well I'll just do vocals today. I was the lead singer. People thought I was amazing but I thought I was alright. When I walked in Brad was starring at me. I call him Tike. I don't know why.

"What's the stare for?"

"You're just so hot"

"K get a life. You know for a fact I wouldn't date you. You date everyone. You're just another dirty teenage boy"

"Wow. Love you too Addison.

"Don't call me that. You know I hate my name."

"Haha to bad"

He bugged the crap out of me. I sat down next to Carmon. She's like a little sister to me. She plays guitar. Tike is the drummer. And Derek is the bass. Carmon was 16 and she was a little gem. She meant a lot to me. She's dating Derek. He was 18 too. Tike is the oldest he is 20.

The band started when I was 17. That was about a year ago. Me and Carmon started singing and playing guitar one time. We played for the class all the time. Then she told me she was dating Derek. We played for him one time. A couple days later Carmon came up to me and said "We should make a band! You could be the singer. I could be the guitar player. And Der can be the bass! We just need a drummer and I'm sure that wont be hard.

We had auditions for it later that week. Unfortunately Tike was the best out of all 15 of them. Skye was pretty upset that she wasn't in it. Me, Skye, and Carmon were best friends and she was heartbroken when i told her there were no places left for her. She wouldn't talk to any of us for days. Then we came friends again got an apartment and she started dating Logan and she turned into a bitch.

After we graduated we got gigs at different places. We didn't even have a name for our band. We were all going through a rough time. We always told each other to have hope. And that's when the name came. Hope. That's how it all started. By naming something important to you. All you need is Hope.
