After the war was over, everything got better for mostly everyone. All the dragon tribes got along and some sent their dragonets to the new school, Jade Mountain Academy. Mangrove was planning on sending his own dragonets to the school as well, when he had kids.
Orchid's and his life definitely got better after the war. They'd reunited after Orchid had been captured by the Nightwings and then they continued their job as being fruit gatherers. Their relationship grew and soon enough, there was two tiny eggs on the way which were nestled in a leafy nest in the hatchery.
"How about Treeleaf?" asked Mangrove who was fruit gathering with his mate.
"No, it should be more unique," told Orchid. The two were trying to pick dragonet names but they both couldn't agree on one.
"I thought it was unique," righted Mangrove who glared at Orchid.
"Well, too bad. I didn't!" exclaimed Orchid who shot him a smile which he returned. Happy mother, happy lover thought Mangrove who didn't argue any further.
"Um, how about Acacia, or um Almond!" thought up Orchid.
"Eh," simply replied Mangrove.
"You're just being difficult," complained Orchid.
"I know. Anyway, I have a better name. How about--" started Mangrove.
"We are not naming one of our dragonets banana!" happily shrieked Orchid when seeing Mangrove pull off a banana from a small tree.
"Fine. What about Guava? Glory? Kinkajou?" questioned Mangrove
"Ok, are you even trying? You're just saying random names of other Rainwings," indicated Orchid who rolled her eyes.
"Hhmp," grunted Mangrove who crossed his arms. Orchid came over to him as she put a wing around him and leaned against him.
"I'm sorry. This is just really exciting for me. I just want everything to be perfect," comforted Orchid which actually made Mangrove feel better.
"It's exciting for me too, just, how about since we're fruit gatherers, our dragonets should be given fruit names," tried Mangrove.
"Ok, nice thinking. I know I chose the right dragon," smiled Orchid as the two flew off to another spot to gather fruit. I chose the right dragon too thought Mangrove.
"See, a fruit name could be banana," joked Mangrove.
"I just don't like the sound of that," Orchid said as she shook her head. They both laughed until they got into a whole competition of naming fruits.
"Orange!" yelled Mangrove.
"Pineapple!" roared Orchid.
"Grapefruit!"
"Kiwi!"
"Papaya!"
"Apple!"
"Tangerine!"
"Wait, that's basically the same thing as an orange," stopped Orchid.
"No, they're different," answered Mangrove.
"Dragonfruit!"
"Mango!"
"Banana!" Orchid shouted.
"You said you didn't like that name!" shouted back Mangrove.
"I'm just being silly!" explained Orchid until a loud "shush!" came from the sleeping platforms around them where they were fruit gathering. The two giggled as they continued whispering names to each other to not disturb the other dragons.
"Watermelon," stated Orchid which got a muffled giggle out of Mangrove.
"Who would call their dragonet watermelon? This whole fruit listing thing isn't helping," emphasized Mangrove. It's not really helping with finding baby names but it's nice to just goof around with her. I've missed her for 3 weeks while she was captured and it could've been more if Glory hadn't helped.
"Ya, we need to try harder. It's fun at least, right?" asked Orchid who waited for an answer as she looked at Mangrove.
"Yes, of course it is!" replied Mangrove who hugged Orchid. He wanted her to never be sad ever again after what had happened to her before the war.
"Great! Now let's keep thinking," suggested Orchid as they went off into listing more names.
Orchid and Mangrove were done with their job for the day as they dropped off the fruit they had with them and flew to their two eggs. They hadn't been successful with choosing names but they were still thinking. The eggs were still in the same nest at the hatchery which made it easy for them to find them. They were surrounded by other eggs of all sizes but not other Rainwings.
"I'm glad we care more about our eggs then some other dragons," spoke Orchid who lightly laid her claws on the shells of her eggs.
"Me too. They'll have a good life. We'll be sure of it," happily foretold Mangrove as he too laid his claws on the eggs. After that moment, Mangrove had a thought. It wasn't anything like a dangerous thought but it was a calming thought more about fruit.
"Hey, Orchid. I have an idea. What about Lemon," offered Mangrove as he waited patiently while Orchid thought it over. A smile soon appeared on her face as she began speaking.
"Lemon...and Lime!"added Orchid as she nuzzled Mangrove, "Those are perfect names!" They cuddled as they awed over Lemon and Lime, the soon to be born Rainwings. This is where our life gets better. No more captured dragons. Only love and hope and happiness happily thought Mangrove.
Awwwww, isn't that sweet. It warms your heart and soul! It wasn't anything too dramatic but it gives you the feels! ;) Thanks people for all your support and I've been so happy responding to comments from all of you!!! Thanks thanks thanks and I'm out! -GlorybringerAnyone
