fern walked through the tall grass and could hear the rushing water from the river close by.as she passed through some bushes she say fiddle the ferret sitting a on a rock with an apple core while pastel the rabbit sat next to the rock with her feet and an apple in her hand with only a few small bites in it Harriet was in the river looking at the water intently as the ends of his baggy pants flowed with the river fern walked up to pastel and sat next to her and fiddle sitting up on his rock took an apple from the basket sitting next to him on the rock and tossed it to fern.pastel and fiddle are both energetic and pastel has  a blue paint skill witch she uses in a sketch form and fiddle has a red paint skill and uses his tail as a  paint brush.the both of them have a fondness of each other yet they are too afraid to ask each other yet any animal could walk past them and notice right away the connection between them.fern looked over to pastel while taking a bite of her apple and asked "what is Harriet doing in the river" pastel had her focus on Harriet but turned to fern to say"he is fishing for trout so that we have something to eat for when we go camping"fern looked at pastel confused with her ears drooped"camping?"fern questioned and pastel replied by with excitement in her voice"fiddle,Harriet and I are going camping tonight we were going ot invite you but you have the moon mountain hike tomorrow so we decided that after you were done and got your paint skill we would send Harriet to bring you to the camp site"fern was excited by the news and could not wait to finish her hike tomorrow to go camping but for now fern simply wanted to start some conversation for the crane fishing in the river was not entertaining enough for ferns hyper activeness.she had not known pastel very long as she only met her after fiddle introduced her to pastel so she began to wonder if she had ever heard the story the sketch painter and so she asked and fern shook her head no and asked"is it scary?"with witch fern nodded and pastel continued"oh oh save it for when we go camping it will make a great campfire story!"fern was about to tell her about how scary he story really was but was cut off by the sound of splashing water as she looked to see what was happening she saw Harriet wrestling with a huge trout trying to catch it the fish was stuck in the shallows of the river and its tail swung hard and splashed water all over fern and pastel while fiddle stayed high and dry on his rock and cheered loudly for Harriet as he chased after the fish beak low to the water.fern was mildly annoyed by how she got wet but still wanted to help cheer Harriet on to help him catch the trout so she joined in with fiddle's loud cheering and pastel soon joined in after making an attempt to get the water of her fur and soon Harriet managed to get the trout to shore the trout was almost half Harriet's size and six times his weight it was a magnificent catch and would definitely last them the whole camping trip Harriet stood in the bank of the river panting from his struggle with the trout fern and pastel were still wet but they could not believe the catch it was huge!Harriet looked up after catching his breath to see his friends admiring the trout two of them soaked Harriet apologized for getting them wet and they forgave him right away the four friends spent a lot of time on the river bank but when the sun started to set fiddle and pastel left for their homes and Harriet and fern went to the great rocks witch were not too far from Harriet's home there they had fun painting on the rocks Harriet would use his quill to draw on the rocks and he let fern borrow his quill so she could draw the small rocks had childish drawing clearly made by one with little experience but Harriet had quickly mastered his painting skill and made beautiful abstract work with his quill and fern often drew plants with the quill but soon enough she would have her own paint skill to call her own
