Marionette felt nothing but calmness as she floated in the void of her mind. She couldn't open her eyes and she didn't want to. Then there was a bright light. Her eyes opened a little and she saw the light coming closer. It wrapped itself around her and hid all the dark. Now she was in a whiteness. She started to fall, as if the white brought gravity with it. She tried to scream but nothing came. She shut her eyes tight and felt a sudden slap on her cheek. "Wake up!!" Another slap. She opened her eyes and saw she was chained to a window. 'Why am I chained to the window? Shouldn't I be chained to a wall or a bed?' She earned another slap that brought her to reality. Standing in front of her was a man with a mask. It was a plain white mask and he had his hand up, ready for another smack. "Who are you? Where am I?" Marionette asked him, in complete confusion. "Be quiet!" He slapped her again. A small tear fell from her cheek. "Stop hitting me, please!" She begged. "You're our prisoner. We'll find your little friends soon and you'll all be together again." He laughed and walked out of the room and slammed the door. Marionette started to cry remembering how her friends were gone. She screamed and sobbed for an hour. Now she was staring blankly at the floor. The same man walked in, dragging something. Marionette didn't look up so she couldn't see what it was. She heard chains so it had to be a new prisoner. The man walked out and Marionette looked at the person. It was Ella! Marionette gasped and tried to go to her but was stuck from her restraints. "Psst...Ella!" Marionette whispered, trying to get her friends attention. Ella didn't move. Obviously she was knocked out. Marionette tried her best to get to her friend, but was bested again by the chains. She grunted and growled as she yanked at the chains. She gave one last yank and ripped them right out of the wall. She flew forward and skid on the floor. "What was that?" There was footsteps coming up the stairs. 'Oh no.' Marionette quickly got up and ran to Ella. "We're leaving." She found a key and took off both her and Ella's chains and put Ella over her shoulder. The footsteps were in the hallway now. She quickly opened the window and stretched so she could set her friend in a bush. The door slammed open. "Stop!!" Before the man could get to Marionette, she jumped out of the window. "No!!!" He stuck his head out the window. "NO!!!" Marionette laughed and sighed. She picked Ella up and started running. She got halfway across the yard and heard engines. 'Are those cars?' She looked over and five cars were rumbling. She ran as fast as she could to the woods. One car just barely missed her as she got safely to the woods. She was safe, for now.
