Bryce was playing pop music on the radio. They were about 4 hours out of Asheville.
Elie got a numerous amounts of texts from her parents. All she responded with is 'Im fine' It wasn't much but it helped. They finally stopped at a gas station.
"Finally." Aria said.
They all rushed out of the van. Elie and Aria took Lily to the restroom while the rest of them went into the store. After they were finished they met the rest of them in the store. They all had snacks and drinks. Elie, Aria and Lily browsed the store for a snack. Elie settled for a bag of sun chips and twislers. Aria grabbed sour patch kids. Lily chose a candy bar. They got their drinks and met everyone at the cash register. They laid there stuff on the counter and Elie pulled out a $20 to pay for their stuff. Blair paid for her and the boy's. Bryce was in charge of gas money so he paid a $20 to fill the tank. Everyone got back in the van.
Lily tugged on River's shirt. River bent down to talk to her.
"I don't wanna sit in the middle." She said with those little blue eyes.
"Ok. I'll figure it out." River said giving into the cuteness.
Elie couldn't get over how adorable he was with kids. That was something she loved in a guy. She snapped out of it when Aria bumped her. She looked up and saw River walking towards them.
"Hey guys um Lily wants to sit by the window and I was wondering if one of you guys could switch?" River asked looking directly at Elie as if he knew she was going to be the one to volunteer.
He guessed correctly because Elie agreed. "I'll do it. I'm fine with switching." Elie said eager but playing it cool.
"Thanks El." River hugged her which made her happy.
River went over to Lily and put her carseat where Elie used to sit.
Aria looked at Elie. "You're gonna thank me." She said before walking away.
"Wait, for what?" Elie asked practically screaming.
"You'll see." Aria said smirking.
Everyone was in their seats except Aria. "River do you mind sitting in the back I'm getting a little claustrophobic back there." Aria said in an innocent voice.
Elie knew what she was doing and mouthed, 'Thank You' to her. But Elie didn't know if she was doing it for her or if she was doing it to be closer to Luke but either way River was sitting by her.
"Of course Aria." River said getting up to trade seats.
Aria sat down with a big smirk on her face.
Luke looked at her, "I know what you did." Luke said with a smile.
Aria smiled at him before turning her head back to Elie and River.
River buckled his seat belt. "I guessed it's me and you." He said smiling.
"I guess it is." Elie said trying to contain her happiness.
"Everyone ready?" Bryce said looking back at them.
"Yup Dad." Aria said realizing that Blair and Bryce were the parents on this trip.
Everyone ate their food as they watched trees past by them. An hour into Virginia Elie had fallen asleep on River's shoulder. He didn't seem to mind it all.
In front of them Aria was sleeping. Luke saw and grabbed the blanket he packed and put it over her. He looked back at River, "That's how it's done." Luke smirked.
River laughed softly at him trying not to wake Elie.
"So River where do your grandparents live?" Bryce asked so he knew where to go.
"Williamsburg." River said. "I'll send you the adress so you can put it into your gps." River said.
Bryce gave his phone to Blair so she could type it in. The siri sounding voice turned on as she gave them directions to their destination.
