Chapter 11: Family?

I watch Jack's face as he silently pleads with me not to say anything but I ignore him and turn around to face the alpha.

"You are related to Jack aren't you?" I feel Angel move closer to me and I can basically feel his curiosity as I elbow him backwards.

"Jack?" the Alpha looks confused then I see recognition on his face when Angel pulls Jack into the light.

"Hi dad..." I hear Jack mutter as he steps closer to me.

"I...You...I finally found you! My son!" the smile that breaks out across the alpha's face makes me smile slightly but then I see Jack's face and I frown.

"How could you come back here dad? Mom will rip you apart for leaving her."

"Please let me apologize about that, Jack you're my son all I want is to get to know you."

"Wait Jack you mean to tell me that your dad isn't your actual dad?" I frown and tilt my head to the side.

"Autumn not right now!" Jack snaps at me making me scowl.

"Ok first off never snap at me again and second off I wouldn't ask this crap if you had told me from the start, just like the tidbit about me being a damn royal!" I fume.

"Wait you're a vampire princess?" Jack's dad asks his eyes wide when I turn to look at him.

"Yeah I am, a part of the family your family was supposed to look after." I raise an eyebrow.

"Oh...About that..."

"Don't trust him Autumn he left my mom and left your parents." Jack growls.

"Oh so he probably doesn't know that they are dead because he left?" I narrow my eyes at him.

The look that crosses the alpha's face when I say that my parents are dead shows remorse but I ignore it and hold out my hand making him look confused.

"You said that I forgot something behind?"

"Oh yeah this." he pulls a necklace out of his pocket and my eyes widen as my hand goes to my neck only to feel that the snowflake isn't there.

"My necklace!" I grab it from him and hold it tightly in my fist.

"I saw it fall off of you when you and your brother ran off, I picked it up and followed your scent to return it to you."

"Thank you so much, this necklace does mean a lot to me." I hand it to Jack so that he can put it on me.

"There you go Autumn." Jack smiles as he clips it together around my neck then he kisses my cheek and I smile softly.

"She's the one for you isn't she Jack?" the alpha asks.

"Yes she is but what are you still doing here? You gave her the necklace back should you not be leaving now?" Jack asks raising an eyebrow.

"May I talk to Autumn alone for a few minutes? She did trespass on my pack's land."

"Fine you have five minutes." Jack snaps pushing me out onto the deck slightly.

I sigh as he shuts the door and I hear him and Angel walk away then I look at the alpha and raise an eyebrow, as if to say well what did you want.

"I wanted to give you my card and tell you to contact me if anything happens and if you need help. Autumn I know that I wasn't there for your parents and I am deeply grieved to hear that they have died but I want to make things right at least with you. I know that it will be a long time until Jack can even stand looking at me but maybe if we work together it will give me more chances to make it up to both of you." he smiles slightly handing me a card before turning wolf again and running away.

I stand there holding the card until I hear the door start to open. I quickly stuff the card into my pocket after scanning the name quickly. 

"What did he want Autumn?" Jack asks sliding his arms around my waist.

"I'm sure you heard it, every word Jackie." I giggle softly.

"Yes I did but he never gave you his number."

"Alpha Cole didn't have to Jack." I sigh as I bury my face in his shoulder.

"Just be careful ok Autumn?" Jack kisses my temple.

"Of course Jackie, you have my word." I look up at him and smile my heart filling with nothing but love and admiration for him.

He moves his hands from my waist to my cheeks and gently leans down to kiss me. My eyes close automatically as I press against him and he moves his hands again one to my chin and the other to my waist again. He breaks the kiss softly and smiles down at me as I open my eyes and pout softly.

"You always loved kissing me too much." Jack laughs joking with me as he kisses me again quickly.

"Can you blame me?" I smile.

He shakes his head then takes my hand and leads me into the house and into the living room, where we kick Angel out so that we can cuddle on the pull out bed and watch movies. I end up falling asleep as dawn started to creep up on us and when I wake up, like I usually do in the middle of the day, I was curled up against Jack. I smile then worm out of his grip and silently move towards the kitchen. I rummage around in the fridge for a bag of blood then I make my way back to the living room only to run into Jack in wolf form making me yelp and stumble backwards.

"God damnit Jack! I was thirsty not kidnapped again!" I growl as he changes back into human form to catch me quickly.

"Sorry Autumn I just...I woke up from a bad dream and you were gone and I just kind of freaked out." He mumbles as he pulls me close against him.

"I'm sorry Jackie I was just thirsty don't worry I'm still here." I smile then take his hand and lead him back to the bed.

"Don't leave me again?"

"I promise Jackie." I sit down on my side of the bed so that I can drink the blood that is in the bag.

Jack curls up again with his hand on one of mine making me smile before ripping into the bag and devouring the contents. Once I'm done I put the empty bag on the floor beneath the bed and then I curl up and snuggle close to Jack and pass out.
