Chapter 12

I stepped out of the room wearing the spare uniform, which honestly I didn't know I had. When I saw Sebastian wasn't in the hall, I felt a bit confused. Though, I suppose it makes a bit of sense. He's probably preparing the young lord. I moved down the hall to the window that had an extraordinary view of the front courtyard. The garden had to be my favorite part of the house, so far anyway. The carriage sat in the driveway and it seemed Ciel and Sebastian were just walking out the door.

I stared for a few more moments before I realized I should be down there as well. I gasped and began running down the hall, toward the front hall. I yelled my apologies to Grell as I ran by, about near ran over, the poor murderer! Sebastian was climbing up to the driver's seat when I came out the door. I could still see that damn smirk he was wearing.

"About time you arrived, we were about to leave without you." Ciel said from inside the carriage.

"My apologies, my lord." I said in between breaths, the run leaving me quite winded. "The view of the courtyard is amazing. I'll have to make sure I compliment Finny once we get back."

The smirk on Sebastian's face faded into a look of annoyance and irritation. "As a matter of fact I-"

I pretended not to hear him, saying, "Don't we have to be somewhere? You can tell me your story later, Sebastian." As I turned, I could practically feel the glare he was giving me. 'Y/n 1, Sebastian 0.' I climbed up onto the coach box. "C'mon! Let's get going."

Sebastian rolled his eyes and climbed up and next to me. I gave him a big, innocent smile and received yet another eye roll. We both turned to face the road and were off to town.

{ Time skip brought to you by boring drives to town. }

I gaped in awe at the sights around me. This had to be this most amazing thing I had ever seen! The streets were lined with people. Children were with their parents looking into candy and toy shops. Every now and then, I'd see a small one riding on the shoulders of their father. Every woman and girl were in beautiful, elegant dresses while the men and boys had hats and suits. Some even had walking canes. There was so much color from the shops around, especially the Funtom ones I saw.

The only thing that made the scene not as colorful and as cheerful as it seemed was the child screaming the newspaper headline on the corner. "Extra! Extra! Mysterious murder of a prostitute!" He shouldn't even know what that word means!

I decided to put that little thing away and take back in the sights. "Why couldn't I have been born in this time period? Everything is gorgeous!" I exclaimed, absolutely marveled by everything around me.

"I suppose you were just unlucky." Sebastian responded, slowing the carriage for children running across the street.

"You could say that again." The mother shouted her thanks to us, I nodded a universal signal of "your welcome", and we continued our little adventure. "So, how much farther is it?"

"Not too far now, it's just around that bend." Sebastian pointed to the street coming up on our right and I fought the desire to burst out into song. Damn you Disney!

We arrived not to long after, Sebastian helping Ciel out of the carriage as I jumped out of the coach box, the skirt of my dress billowing in the breeze. I walked around to them and we all walked into the cane shop.

The store was filled with canes of all sizes and designs in cases along the walls, and a older man standing behind the counter. He was polsihing one of the canes as we entered, and put it down when we arrived at the counter.

"Hi there, kid. Your dad send you here?" The gentleman asked. He must've not seen the hurt on Ciel's face when he had said "dad". Now I feel bad. But it isn't your fault!

Luckily for all of us, Sebastian broke the somewhat awkward silence, "Pardon, but we've come to pick up my master's walking stick." Sebastian pulled out a note of some kind and handed it to the man behind the counter.

He opened it up and something seemed to have clicked in the back of his head. "Oh, you're here for this stick." He pulled out a cane of his own and opened a drawer with it. "I was wondering who'd use a cane so short-" He began pulling out the stick and handed it to Sebastian. Meanwhile, I put a hand to my mouth to stifle my laughter, "-but I never imagined it would be such a young chi--"

With one smooth, graceful motion the cane was mere centimeters from his face. With one hard push, the man could fall to the ground completely unconscious. Possibly with some frontal lobe damage. "It's a magnificent stick. Straight as an arrow." Sebastian placed a bag of couns onto the counter and we turned to leave.

Just before I exited I turned to the man and said, "Keep the change." I heard him hit the floor as I closed the door and made my way back to the street with Sebastian and Ciel.

We walked in silence before Ciel gave an exasperated sigh and said, "That ridiculous strength of Finni's is a nuisance. How could someone accidentally break a walking stick? I had to have a new one made!"

I rolled my eyes, thinking Well no shit sherlock. If you break something you either fix it or get a new one. I got a glare from Sebastian. Get the hell out of my head. The voice doesn't like you! His eyebrow raised, seemingly asking "What voice?" I turned my head, giving an upset look, then turned back to face him. The one you're listening to, jackass. Y/n 2, Sebastian 0 It was now him who rolled his eyes.

This all managed to happen in the amount of time it took Sebastian to respind to Ciel. I didn't even hear what he had said! I'm not going to like this whole mind thing, not one bit.

Though I did hear a child's voice to the left. "Look, Mama, it's a Bitter Rabbit from Funtom! It's brand new!"

I chuckled softly to myself. Children getting excited over toys is sometimes the cutest and funniest thing. He was bright eyed and, from what I could see, looked a lot like his mother. Let's hope he grows up to be a good kid.

"Y/n. Let's get going. I don't want to leave Grell with the others too long." Sebastian whispered, tapping my shoulder.

I forward, realizing we were back at the carriage already. I climbed up into the coach box and replied, "What, afraid he's gonna kill himself?"

A look of worry replaced Sebastian's usual smirk. "A bit, actually. It would such a mess to clean up."

"You know there are- nevermind. You wouldn't care. Let's get back to the manor." I placed a hand to my forehead, praying this damn migrane would just dissapear already. I won't want to deal with it when we go to meet Elizabeth.
(( I'm not going to joke about Grell trying to commit suicide 'cuz the stuff is serious. The joke I made with voices in your head was kinda pushing it. Sorry bout that. But hey, talk to someone if you're having those issues. Please. People care about you. Hell, I do and I'm just an author on the other side of a screen. ))

~ AN ~
Oh my god, I didn't write in the part where Grell tried to kill himself. Bad author-chan. LET'S PRETEND THAT HAPPENED WHEN YOU LEFT.
Anyway, howdy, it's been a while. Im sorry. Fml. Bombard me with all the vicious comments if you must but I am sincerely sorry.
ALSO for those who read the Undertale fanfic I have up I'm going to do a hUUUUUUUge edit on that mess. Wooo. Editing. I have a whole new plan for how it's gonna go so a lot of my time will go into that. I will try to get these up daily but if I don't, I apologize. Hire some people to hunt me down and make me write or something.
ANOTHER THING,  minor edits in chapter 2, check those out. It's those last few paragraphs for those who are interested. And another tidbit in chapter 6. The edit in chapter 2 led to the one in chapter 6. Trust me, it'll make better sense in the long run.
Its like 2 in the morning. I need sleep. Thanks for reading, I don't wrap things up well.
