She ran down the empty street, panting heavily and running as fast as her heels could carry her. Her short black hair was sticking out in ever which way. Her tight white beaded dress wrapped tightly against her thighs, to which she yanked up to give her more room to run. Her legs were starting to weaken and buckle beneath her every time she stopped, but her adrenaline kept her going.
It was around midnight. The wind was as cold as death when it caressed her hot skin as her blood pumped in her veins. Her breath creating warm clouds as it dissipated in the dark night. The street was littered with trash and broken glass. None of windows had the soft warm glow that some streets did. Some of the windows were cracked or broken, and were covered with cardboard or large pieces of ply wood. Only a few street lamps worked, while some flickered on and off. The lights that worked showed that the walls were gratified over several times and the brick walls were already beginning to crumble.
Tires screeched in the distance. Even the sound of gunshots could be heard. The woman cried out at the sound. She started running faster even though her legs were already seconds away from giving out. Looking down the street there wasn't many places she could go and hide, but she had to try. Suddenly in a split decision she ran left into an alley way and slammed herself flat in the shadows of the stone cold wall. She desperately gasped for air and looked around the corner to see if she lost them.
A car zoomed passed the ally and two shots rang out, one barely missing her head by a foot and hitting the brick wall behind her. She screamed as her hands distinctively covered her face in protection. The car swerved and skidded on two wheels in an hurried attempt of a u-turn. Once the car started forward again the woman started to run again down and through the alley way.
Much to her misfortune she ran into a dead end. She looked around for an escape, but found nothing. She started running back to the entryway of the alley but before she could get any farther the car stopped and blocked the entrance.
The girl gasped and desperately looked around to find an escape. She tried climbing up the 10 foot wall only to fall on her backside hurting her ankle in the process. There was a click and the car door swung open. A dark figure silhouetted by the street lamps from behind slowly made their way to her. The glint of light reflecting on the object in their hand revealed a gun. The woman gasped for breath and started to sob uncontrollably, her make up running down her cheeks as pressed her back into the wall, wanting desperately to disappear into it.
The shadowed figure stopped a yard in front of her. Looking down at her they slowly lifted the gun and pointed it right at the woman's head, point blank. Then before the shadow pulled the saftey, the woman started begging for mercy and practically screaming her final plea.
"Please! I-I-I only kissed him! I-I didn't know he was yours! It didn't mean anything, I swear! I'm sorry! Please! Don't kill me, please! I-I I'm sorry!" Tears streaked her face and so did her thick mascara, only making her look like a miserable human being.
The shadowed figure lowered the gun slightly and lifted her head revealing dark eyes under the black fedora and red lips turned into a smirk. A slight low laugh that sat in her throat.
"Sorry sweetheart. But if I gave mercy, I don't think I would ever forgive myself. People might think I'd be going soft. It's just not who I am, ya know? " Laughter laced in their words as the gun lifted up again and pointed right in-between the woman eyes, the safety pulled, finger barely tugging on the trigger.
"Please! I'll do anything! Plea-"
