Our crew, which consisted of: Taj, Prince, Chance, Keemy, and I; were playing basketball at "Tha Grounds" as we say. We were playing against this mob and they were all good looking. I had to catch myself a couple of times from staring because I was raised not to stare or point, that'll get your shit rocked.

I was currently benched because I got tired, but I was in Tajs' basketball shorts and a plain white T-shirt. I rested my head on my hands and was ready to go. Another guy from the mob was sitting beside me along with about 4 other ones but I didn't mind because, y'know, He was a pleasant sight to see.

"What's your name, shorty," The guy said finally speaking. He'd been looking at me for a while, but I wasn't going to say anything first.

I smiled back at him, "Amari,"

"Aye, don't they call you AK or something?" Another brownskin dude said.

"Yeah why,"

"Why they give you the nickname of a gun? You thug life?"

"Are you thug life?" I replied and he nodded smiling at me. "Aye, you ain't tell me yo' name after I told you mine? Thats kinda how conversations go."

"You got a slick ass mouth." The brown skin dude said.

And I could back it up. Try me. I just looked at him.

He laughed, "Myles," I nodded as we both turned our attention back to the game.

"21!" Someone yelled as the made the shot. They were from the mob, so its obvious that we lost.

I smacked my lips, "Ain't that some shit!"

"Don't be a sore loser, shorty!" Myles smiled and I punched his shoulder. "Ow, damn!"

"I bet she don't even hit hard bruh," The brown skin dude said.

"You talk mad shit bro," I laughed.

My crew came back over to me and Taj looked at me, "C'mon, Let's go before my dad start talking out his neck,"

"You won't do nothing!" I laughed. This dude was my bestfriend. And no, not best friends with benefits type shit.

"But why you got my shorts on Mar?" He asked mugging me.

"You left them at my house last time you slept over," I smirked.

Hakeem came over to us, "Y'all tryna hit up that party that Marco hostin'? He said its gone be liveeeeee!"

"I'm down, but I got to ask pops, and so does Prince. If he say yes, then y'all just come pick me up around 8:30" I replied. Now Prince wasn't my brother, but close to it. His parents' died when we were 5, and my parents' took him in as thier own. It was bad enough that he kind of looked like me. So everybody just assumed that we were siblings.
