Hey guys! :D This is a true story from me! I actually experienced it and I decided to put it in a journal way, I live in New Zealand, Christchurch, my used to be beautiful now damaged home town. :( I will start off at our first quake; the 7.1. So you know, quakes are NOT enjoyable!

I've woken up to something I would never have though I'd experience! Here's what happened;
I wake up to look into the corner of my room, it was shaking and rattling! I could hear the chimney rattle as if it was going to collapse any second now!
'I think it's a dream!' I think, hoping... 'I'll wake up now from this horrible nightmare!' I think, then I realise... IT'S A REAL EARTHQUAKE!!! I think what would be best and scream for help while hiding under the sheets of my bed. My mum is crying! So is my sister, but I wasn't, only screaming over the low but loud growls coming from under the earth.
I struggle but handle getting out of bed, my dad isn't here, he's out at Tekapo I think doing an Army Weekend. I walk out of the door and see my sister and mum getting out of bed, I normally walk down the dark hallway, somehow not tripping over the stuff fallen down in the floor in the mini wardrobe, however my mum and sister tripped over it. I walk around 3 or 4 meters down the hall way since I'm close to the lounge.
The shaking and rumbling stops! The small rattles of aftershocks coming every 3 or 4 seconds after each other, I knew because the chimney kept on rattling every few seconds, if it was 5 or more, that would be kinda impressive. I see my cousin barge out of the door, and my mum and sister followed me, tears dribbling down their checks. I look at the almost fallen TV. I hope now aftershocks shake that off, dad will kill Mother Nature. That man loves his rugby, he would never sleep if it kept on replaying over and over again.
But we had no power, so I ran into the couch a few times before plopping my butt onto it. We all sit on the couch and hug each other, then, I start to cry, I realise that these aftershocks will not stop, which may feel like forever...
My mum gets up as my sister and I cuddle up together in the black blankets, crying, hopeless, confused too on what would happen.
My mum walks to the kitchen with the torches she managed to find, she opens the cabnet door that has all our food in there.
Suddenly my sister and I hear a small crash and look into the kitchen. I guess she was looking for the chocolate to make us feel better, to have a bit of sugar in our systems.
'Wrong cabnet mum.' I say in my head, all the food in the cabnet had tumbled down onto her! It's quite a funny look, but the state we're in, isn't a good time to laugh...

6 or less hours later
We can finally see! We got the message that dad will be coming home for the day to support us, while we need it. Now we feel like telling story's, my cousins beats our story's at the funniest! This is what she said;
"As soon as I found out it was an earthquake, I got out of bed and under it, so I wouldn't get squashed if the walls fell." Said my cousin.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
An hour later
I cannot stop laughing or crying! This is what happened;
My sister and cousin had put the fire on, mum went outside for a smoke, while boiling some water, I sat there bored as hell wrapped in the black blanket, my dog Poppie is watching them cook some toast in some tinfoil, here's the funny part, small quake, small quake, small quake, big shake! My sister threw her toast onto the couch, the dog ran and ate it white my cousin is running around the couch singing/screaming "SAVE THE TOAST! SAVE THE TOAST! SAVE THE TOAST!" Keeping a prance 'till it stopped, my sister did a ninja roll after throwing the toast! Haha!
The damage we have to our house is, fallen in bricks, not completely fallen in, and some shaky bricks too. Not too bad I don't think...
Well I'm going to write some more later! Right now I need to eat some chocolate, surprisingly, I don't really wanna.
