The Vampire Princess and the Werewolf Prince (#1 of the Royalty Bites series)

Chapter 12

I wake up to a wolf howling outside the house and I bolt upright ready to fight if need be. I carefully walk towards the black-out curtains and lift a corner carefully away from myself so that if it is still day time I don't get burnt. I see the light of the moon filter onto the floor and I breath a sigh of relief, then I open the curtain and look out the double glass sliding doors and see that Jack is standing outside them in his wolf form with a buck beside him dead. I open the door then step out and look at the animal then at Jack.

"Went hunting I see." I smile as I sit down on the back deck and look at the swimming pool house which has a tunnel that leads to it from the main house.

"Yes I did I thought that maybe some normal food would help you."

"What do you mean help me?" I frown looking at Jack.

"I meant that you got up around noon, and I noticed that you have a bigger hunger now that your full vampire powers have been unlocked. So being the amazing boyfriend I am, I thought that you would be able to sleep better with a full stomach tonight."  Jack hums laying down beside me.

"That could be but doesn't normal food make full vampires not so happy?" I move and lay my hand on his head.

"Not if they had been living off of food since they were young."

"Don't you mean born? Seeing as I was born not made."

"Yes my princess I know that you are a really rare type of vampire and that only the truest of love could have made your birth and your brother's birth possible but you know what I meant." Jack huffs slightly as I stroke his fur.

"Yes I know Jack but I'm kind of iffy about the whole eating solid food thing now. I've heard terrible stories about normal food doing things to vampires."

"I know Autumn but  why not try it? You grew up on it your stomach is used to it, the only real reason that vampires get sick or irritable or even die is because their vampire side isn't used to getting the nutrients from the actual food only from the blood."

I sit there in silence staring up at the stars as I try to think about the options that have been placed before me. We sit there like that for some time then I look at Jack and smile softly finally having come to a decision.

"Alright Jack I'll try it for you." 

Jack had turned normal in the time that I was looking at the stars and he smiles a wide toothy grin. I smile and snuggle close to him as he wraps his arms around me and kisses the top of my head.

"Thank you Autumn."

We both jump when Angel barges out onto the deck and races across the yard to the pool house and quickly disappears into it. I laugh when Jack looks at me confused.

"When Angel wants to go swimming he always does this. He's too afraid to go in the daytime because he thinks that he's going to burn up even though I have gone in there during the day countless times." I shrug laughing still.

"Alright well he's odd, anywho I have to get this buck cleaned and cut up. Do you want me to do anything with the antlers?"

"No not really I don't like having that type of stuff hanging up around the house it's creepy." I smile then stand up and walk past him into the house with the thought of swimming in my head.

When I walk back out in my purple bikini holding a red towel in one arm and a black on in the other. Jack looks up from the buck that he is currently skinning and his jaw drops making me giggle softly. I know that I have a nice body but I never like to really show it off as I'm not a vain one but when it comes to swimming I have no shame. I walk over to him and kiss his cheek then past him towards the pool house, happy that Jack decided to be smart and do it all on the stone walkway so that we can just wash it off with the hose. When I enter the pool house I see that Angel had forgotten to grab a towel and I smile shaking my head as I set the towels down on a chair. I look up as Angel breaks the surface of the deep end and I smile then wave to him.

"I brought you a towel since I figured you would have forgotten about it." 

"Thank you Autumn, guess you know me pretty well." Angel laughs swimming to meet me in the shallow end.

I laugh then step into the water and sigh as the temperature is perfect, "Well you are my twin brother so I'd like to think that I know you pretty well."

Angel laughs then takes my hand and pulls me towards him then quickly flicks me away sending me spinning around in the water laughing just like when we were younger. We laugh and splash and play for hours, Jack joins us after he's all done with the buck and cleaning up. At one point Jack insults my speed and I frown.

"Excuse me? How about we have a race and I show you just how fast I really am in the water?" I growl while treading water.

"I'll judge!" Angel chimes in jumping out of the water as I swim to the shallow end.

"Alright but don't come crawling crying to me when you lose princess." Jack follows me.

I growl and get out of the water then go over to the wall and press a button making the shallow end turn into another deep end and the middle end deepen to match the rest of the pool. Jack watches his eyes wide then he looks at me and smiles.

"Just to make it more of a challenge it is underwater only." I watch him daring him to say anything.

Jack nods then gets out of the pool and stands at the end I'm on, I join him and stand beside him. I make sure to quickly stretch then get into the proper swimmer position that professional swimmers use. Angel makes a quick speech explaining the rules and how many laps we have to do and what sound says for us to start the race.

"Yeah yeah Angel can we please just get this done and over with so that I can teach this pup some manners?" I growl as I shift.

Angel makes the noise that signals the start of the race and I'm off, but so is Jack.
