Vic's POV

My eyes peered open, the bright light pouring through the window had ripped them open. I felt like shit, and I had gotten barely any sleep last night. Between the nightmare and the late night conversation with my dad, followed by a quick quiet meltdown before I fell asleep I had maybe gotten 4 hours. I groaned, rubbing at my still slightly swollen eyes. I threw my blanket over my eyes, hoping to drown out the sunlight, but the blanket proved to be too thin.

I groaned to myself once again rolling over to face away from the window. Kellin was still fast asleep, and the only thing in the room that I could hear was his breath. I smiled a little. I brought my hand to his face, my finger tracing over his soft pink lips. I moved my hand away from his mouth, running my fingers through his messy dark hair, pushing it out of his face.

He shuffled around a bit and I pulled my arm away. He stopped moving, proving that he was still asleep and I leaned forward, grinning happily as I kissed his forehead gently. I grabbed the hem of the blanket which had been pushed down to his waist and lifted it up so I could drape it over his shoulders. I lifted the blanket up fairly high, but stopped after I noticed something. His shirt had risen up to his ribcage. Curiosity got the better of me and I gently set the blanket down at his hips.

My eyes widened in shock, his skin being clear now that it was exposed in the sunlight. There were serval deep gashes along his ribs, some even overlapping. I gasped lightly and pulled his shirt up a little more to reveal what was above his stomach. I brought my hand to my mouth in shock. There was a large area of deep cuts, some in the shapes of words. "Worthless" was written clearly only inches above his navel. I pushed it up a little more, the display of shredded skin only getting worse. The scars were long, thick, deep and the often overlapped. The display was more than upsetting, the amount of skin that was damaged outweighed the clean skin by quite a bit. No wonder he won't let me take off his shirt.

I gripped his shirt tightly, and pulled it back down to his hips. I couldn't look at them anymore. I felt a tear roll down onto my cheek and I kissed his neck lovingly.

"I'm so sorry," I whispered, shutting my eyes and trying not to think about what I had just witnessed. "I'm so sorry you had to feel that way."

--------------

I felt Kellin begin to awake beside me, his body making little movements as he came out of his deep sleep, back into the real world. He still hadn't opened his eyes but it was clear he was no longer asleep since he was reacting to the world around him. I smiled and leaned forward, kissing his neck gently.

"Morning babe," I said a bit hoarsely since I was still tired. He let out a little noise, which was a mix between a whine and a groan, before slowly turning a little so we were face to face. "You feeling better?" I asked, referencing what had happened the day prior. He nodded, cuddling up to me and burying his face in my shoulder "Aww, you're like a little kitten," I giggled, rubbing my hand up and down his back.
