Thunder and lightning swirled around the Sakamaki mansion, growing steadily louder in order to make it's presence known. The sky rumbled fiercely, threatening to let loose streams of water upon the ground, and the lights in the mansion started to flicker eerily in the dark.
The place itself was moderately quiet, no sound caused by running feet or hurried breaths.
Utter silence filled the house.
Until suddenly, there was an uncertain rap on the front door, that sent echoes down the deserted halls.
Yui Komori woke with a start. She thought she had imagined the noise, before it came again, sending shivers down her spine. Who could possibly be at the door at this hour? Surely no-one would want to visit them.
Could it be....her father?
She jumped out of bed, sending the covers flying in her wake. She sped down the corridors and made it to the stairs, thanking her silent footsteps.
She definitely didn't want to wake up - well, one of them.
Tiptoeing her way down the stairs, she gasped and jumped behind one of the pillars at the bottom.
Ayato, the red-head who had assaulted her earlier that evening, had beat her to it, and he was standing in the doorway speaking to a small, slight figure that she couldn't make out from this distance. He looked pissed.
'Please, may I come in?' the boy asked hesitantly.
Ayato sneered. 'Who sent you?' he said in a mocking tone, 'You look a bit too masculine to be another prospective bride.....although I'm sure you could pass with a bit of makeup.'
The boy seemed to completely overlook Ayato's sly remark, and instead replied, 'Another prospective bride? You mean my sister's here already?'
'Sister...?!' Ayato started, and watched as the boy slipped past him to look towards the pillar at the bottom of the stairs, from which came a startled squeak.
'Yui? Yui, it is you!' he cried, running towards her.
She exchanged confused looks with Ayato, as he hugged her excitedly.
'Oh sorry, I've forgotten to introduce myself,' he said sheepishly, pulling away from her.
'I'm Komori Yuro, your older brother! Father sent me here to look after you. I'm exactly 2 years older than you, as we were both born on the same day...'
He trailed off, looking at his feet.
Just then, Reiji and Subaru came bursting through the door on their left, and Kanato and Laito came trailing down the stairs, looking curiously at the new arrival.
'Ehhh, what have we here?' Laito said, in his beautiful sing-song voice. 'He looks a bit like bitch-chan, nee Kanato?'
'Mmm. Teddy thinks so too,' the purple haired child muttered in response, cradling his stuffed bear in his dainty hands.
'Care to inform us, Ayato?' Reiji questioned, eyeing Yuro suspiciously.
'Wah, I didn't expect there to be this many people...' Yuro whispered to Yui, who stood cluelessly next to him.
'He claims he's here to protect Yui on his fathers orders, but I for one think we should kick him out,' Ayato spat.
'Now now, Ayato-kun,' said Laito playfully, 'Don't let's act so brashly. After all, I'm sure none of us would mind having more food lying around the house, would we?'
Ayato smirked, and the others frowned considering the idea as the blood drained from Yuro's face.
'F-food?!' he gasped under his breath. 'Y-Yui....what are they talking about?'
'Then it's settled,' Reiji announced finally. 'He shall stay with Yui until tomorrow when we can discuss this with Shu.'
They all nodded and trudged back off to their rooms, Ayato giving Yuro one last icy glare before following them.
Yuro breathed a sigh of relief. 'Phew, I'm kinda glad they're gone,' he said, 'They don't seem that hospitable.'
Without a word, Yui lead him back to her room, and they both got into either side of her bed in complete silence.
She switched off the light next to her bed, and said into the silence,
'You shouldn't have come here.'
Yuro stared at her back, wondering why her words sounded so full of terror. He drifted off to sleep, feeling uneasy, as the storm outside raged on.
