    8 years earlier...
Knock knock! My new stepmother, Griselda scattered over to the door and on the other side was the mailman handing her a letter while I hid behind the stairwell. Griselda opened the letter piece by piece till it was as big as her head as she read and read she suddenly gasped. I snuck out from behind the stairwell as she called me over to her." Gisselle, sweetie please come over to mommy." I walked over to her slowly.
" I have some news about your father." Griselda exclaimed.
" Is he coming home?" I Joyfully exclaimed.
" no darling I'm afraid to say your father died at war." Griselda sadly said. It took me a second for me to process it and then I understood I fell to the floor crying since he was all the family I had left.

Present...
Knock knock!
" Gisselle go get the door!" Yelled Griselda.
Annoyed I said " Yes Mother."
As I opened the door the mailman gave me an invitation. I closed the door and read it.

Dear Griselda, Lucinda, Melinda and Gisselle,
The King would love to have you come to the Palace for his son Prince Edward's Ball. It will be a chance for him to meet everyone in town and find his true love. There will be dinner and beverages available and a chance to dance with him yourself. You will also be able to meet me and the Queen. It will be at 8:00 p.m. sharp on Sunday. The Prince hopes to see you there.
                          From King Charles

I was so excited that my life long dream to meet and dance with the prince might actually come true.
" We've got a letter from Prince!" I yelled
"The Prince!" Screamed my stepsisters, Lucinda and Melinda in unison.
"Yes and he invited us to his Ball!" I  exclaimed
"The Prince and a Ball!" Griselda yelled louder than us all.
" He's mine!" Lucinda yelled trampling down the stairwell with Melinda.
"No he's mine!" Melinda disagreed pushing Lucinda out of the way.
"No he's mine!" Lucinda yelled back pushing her back into the wall.
"No he's mine!" Melinda yelled even louder.
" Stop your bickering this instant!" Griselda shouted madly.
" Sorry mother." Lucinda and Melinda said sadly in unison.
"Now, let's get ready for the Ball!" Excitedly said Griselda.
"Yay!" Lucinda and Melinda chant.
" Oh and Gisselle." Exclaimed Griselda.
"Yes!" I Excitedly said.
"Tell the dress designer to come fit me and your sisters this afternoon." Said Griselda.
"What about me? The letter was addressed to me too." I Exclaimed.
" You want to go to the Festival!" Yelled  Griselda.
"The Kings Festival!" Yelled Lucinda and Melinda.
"Ha!" Laughed Griselda, Melinda and Lucinda.
"I don't see why I can't" I exclaimed.
"Look at yourself your a mess." Exclaimed Griselda.
"No I'm not!" I Yelled.
"People will laugh at you!" Laughed Lucinda.
" I still wish to go to the Ball and dance before the prince." I said dreamy.
"You even have cinder on your face." Melinda states laughing.
"We should call her Cinderella!" Lucinda teased.
"Ha!" Lucinda and Melinda laughed.
" now I think everything is settled so go tell the dress designer the time is ticking." Griselda Exclaimed.
"I can't believe this!" I Screamed.
I ran to my room in the attic onto my rickety bed crying and crying in to my pillow.
Griselda walks up to the attic and said."Gisselle I can't believe you made me tell the dress designer to come fit me and your sister at noon." Griselda said mad.
"It's not my fault your mean." I exclaimed.
" I can't believe this go clean the entire house right now" Griselda yelled.
"It's already clean." I tell.
"Then help us with our dresses." Griselda says rudely.
"Fine." I say annoyed.
I stomp down the stairs angry into my stepsisters room. When we walk in the room the girls are trying on these hideous dresses. When the girls start deciding what dress and shoes each of them wanted. I sat there bored for hours and hours doing nothing.
"Get our lunch Gisselle." Griselda exclaimed.
"Yes mother." I say in boredom.
I walk downstairs to the kitchen and get their lunch and their drinks. I bring it upstairs to them when Griselda told me I could go horseback riding. I was so excited I ran into the stable and got the saddle and hopped onto my horse Bell. We went all through the woods when I came upon a guy named Edward.
"What are you doing so deep into the woods Miss?" Edward asked.
" I am riding around waisting time." I exclaimed.
"I know exactly what you mean I always have guards around me so I sneak out here. Would you like to go have picnic?" Asked Edward.
"I'd love to." I said excitedly.
"Follow me." He smiled.
"Ok." I said smiling back
I rode next to him till we got to a lake where we ate and talked about everything. It was one of the best evenings I have had in a very long time. He finally had to leave so we both road home. When I got home the girls were bickering back and forth about who gets what shoes.
"Gisselle go change for dinner." Griselda Exclaimed.
"Yes mother." I responded.
I went upstairs and put on a dress and walked back down the stairs I went into the dining room and sat down while my friend Sylvia from the kitchen waited us. We had a salad for the side and crab  as the main meal and it tastes amazing.
"Dinners over so go to bed now." Griselda said.
"Yes." Melinda, Lucinda and I exclaimed.
I walked upstairs to my room, changed and got into my bed. That night I dreamt that I met Prince Edward and got to dance with him it was the best dream I ever dreamt. Until Griselda yelled at me to wake up at 6:00 in the morning like normal even though it's a weekend. I got up and went down to the kitchen where I made breakfast for everyone but I have to eat breakfast in the kitchen and we get the scraps. But today was the ball and I knew that somehow I was going to see him but I'm not sure how.
