I have added a new chapter, not sure how good this book is not getting any comments...I understand when writers go on a rant about comments and votes.  It helps a writer when their readers comment and critique as long as it's positive.  I would love to see more comments and keep voting I really appreciate it.

Chapter 29 Unfinished Business

My alarm went off at 6:00 am; I had to get to work early today cause I know I had a mountain of paperwork to catch up on and I was not looking forward to it.  I got out of bed and hopped in the shower so I could get dressed for the day.  After I finished dressing I went into the kitchen and grabbed my bowl of mixed fruit and a boiled egg.  I put two slices of bread in the toaster and made me some coffee.

Not sure what I wanted for lunch, so I decided I wouldn’t make anything for lunch.  I buttered my toast wrapped it up and put it in the bag along with the rest of my breakfast.  I grabbed my purse and cell heading out the door when my phone buzzed in my pocket.

I kept going to my car, putting my things in the passenger seat.  I unlocked my phone to see who the messages were from.  I listened to the first call it was from Kevin.

“Hey sweetheart I guess you are getting ready for work.  I wanted to tell you how much I love you and apologize again for cutting our trip short.  I promise I will make it up to you.  The other thing I was calling for was to see if you wanted to go out for dinner so we can talk about the date for our engagement party and the wedding.  You can call me at the office or my cell.  I’ll talk to you later; I love you babe, bye.”

Aww I think our trip was truly what we needed.  I am so glad we went.  I listened to the next message and it was from Shaun.  I was kinda hesitant to listen to the message considering the calls he left on my answering machine.

I thought about it maybe I should listen to what he wants.  I know I’ve been back for a couple of days and I haven’t called him back.  I guess after hearing those messages he left, guess it had me a little shaken.  I decided to just listen to the message.

I paused before I let it play cause my nerves were in shambles at the moment.  I realized I wasn’t breathing and I let go of the air I was holding in trying to calm my nerves.

“Hello Nikki, could you please give me a call; I need to talk to you.  I’ve been waiting for you to call me, but I guess you are still trying to get settled back in from being gone so long.  Please I need to call me back and we could have lunch and talk.  Nikki, damn I really have missed you and I need to feel your body close to me I miss your warmth baby.  I’ll wait for your call…later baby.

I guess it’s time to talk to Shaun to clear up a few things.

I went straight to my office, my sanctuary the one place I can go and be to myself.  I really wasn’t in a good mood this morning after the message from Shaun and I didn’t want to be a bitch to everyone so I knew I needed to stay put for a while.  I had been catching up on paperwork that needed to be completed and emails piled up while I was out of the office.

I heard a knock o my door; I stood to answer the door.  When I opened it I was shocked and I could feel myself trembling.  This man was gorgeous, and the thought of him naked in my bed was something I should not be thinking about.  He stood there looking unsure of how to approach me.

“Nikki”

He stepped forward and I took a step back hoping it would let him know I didn’t want to be too close to him, but so much for that idea each time I took a step back he took one forward, damn.

“Nikki, how are you; did you enjoy your time off?”

“Hello Dr. Taricone, I am doing well and how are you?”
