The chapter's will be kinda short sorry.

Chapter one

As the sun began setting, hovering over the buildings in the distance. Its light shinning a shade of orange and yellow, turning to the mixture of red and purple. I watch it's beauty, sitting on the roof top of my home. In a big city like Las Vegas, you can barely see the stars above because of the lights all around us, but it's still beautiful if you look past the sirens of cop cars and the Ambulances. I wouldn't be bothered by all the chaos anymore. "I'll miss this.....a little" I whispered to myself with a dim laugh.

When I climbed down the fire escape, my mother Tamara, was watching me in the door way. Her eyes scanned over my room, everything was packed into boxes. No words came from her mouth as I pressed the last stack of clothes I had, into my suitcase. "So where are we going this time?" I knew she heard the disappointment in my question and I'm glad she did.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw her pull out a cigarette after sighing. "Well Dan lives in a town kinda like New York, just a little smaller. It's great though honey." She said with delight in her voice.

"I don't care what it looks like! I don't care if it's like New York! I'm tired of us moving because you keep chasing after ass holes who don't even give you respect!" I yell, showing her with my voice that I was tired of it.

"Mind your damn business." Dan's voice came from behind her. A beer in his hand, the other stroking my mother's arm. She flinched.

"I wasn't talking to you, now was I?"

"Little girl, you better watch your tone with me." His eyes narrowed.

I slammed my suit case, locking it. "Or what? you're gonna hit me?" After I had said that, he pushed aside my mother and started toward me. Any human being that looked in his eyes, knew he was more than angry. He wanted blood. Not literally. I think.

Before he had gotten any closer to me, my mother had rushed in between us. Both her hands on his chest, trying to keep him from getting closer. "Now come on we gotta get movin' lets get in the U-haul and see our new home" I knew she tried to lighten things up. But I didn't budge.

"You mean your new home" Storming out of the room with my suit case in hand.

Chapter Two

Many hours later we passed the "Welcome to-" sign for the town. I didn't pay attention to the name.

"What the hell kinda of town is this? Dan were you forced to live here?" No one said anything.

These bastards lied to me. This place was nothing like New York. It was REALLY small. There were houses, a park but it was just grass, I guess for dogs. Dan hadn't lived in "town" because it was 3 or 4 miles to the stores and malls and everything else. Our new home or my mothers new home was nice, I was surprised that Dan had managed to find a house that didn't look like it was meant to be for explosions and meth labs. He was a lawyer.

"So what do you think honey?" my mom asked.

"Well its not what I expected" I admitted.

I stepped out of the car as it started pouring rain. My mom quickly grabbed her clothes that were on the back seat on mine and Dan's. Rushing so she wouldn't get wet. In her eyes I think she sees rain as disgusting but it's just water. I slowly followed with my suit case by my side.

'Her makeup and hair will get ruined' even though it's eleven- thirty at night. 'Everyone will ask what happened' even though no one cares. 'She needs to look good for Dan' even though he doesn't say anything nice about her looks other than it looks "slutty" but I don't doubt it EVER. I just don't say anything
