In my opinion, dachshunds are one of the best breeds in a family setting. If trained properly, they thrive in pretty much any type of living situation. In small apartments, they will need some exercise, as all dogs do. In large houses, they'll have plenty of space to roam. Dachshunds are very stubborn dogs, therefore, training in mandatory if expecting a nice, pleasant, companion. Most trainers recommend to start training while your dog is still a puppy as to not pick up on any bad behavior.
